We manage cloud infrastructure at significant scale (hundreds to thousands of accounts), move money for millions of customers, and treat reliability, security, and operational excellence as non-negotiable.\nWe look for engineers who think in systems, not tickets. This is a hands-on engineering role: alongside infrastructure-as-code, you’ll design, write, and review production Go code. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will own deep parts of our cloud and networking stack, contribute to the tooling and services that automate it, and build internal abstractions that reduce cognitive load for the broader engineering org.\nYou Will:\nOwn and evolve our edge infrastructure - CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover strategies, and latency-optimized routing.\nDesign, build, and maintain the services and CLI tooling (mostly Go) that automate, observe, and extend our cloud platform, using the same engineering practices as product teams: design docs, code review, testing, and production ownership.\nMonitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs on an ongoing basis.\nLead architecture decisions on cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and platform abstractions used by every engineering team.\nCollaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence into cloud paved pathways.\nTroubleshoot complex network issues across distributed cloud environments, applying deep knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and traffic flow analysis.\nDesign and operate Remitly’s global partner and bank connectivity network - VPNs (IPSec/IKEv2), Direct Connect, BGP routing to financial partners worldwide, and the broader multi-account, multi-region topology that underlies all of Remitly’s payments infrastructure.\nParticipate in on-call rotation (5-person weekly rotation); occasional late syncs with Seattle (4-6 PM CET).\nYou Have:\n5+ years of experience in software, cloud, or infrastructure engineering, including writing production code - with significant hands-on AWS depth.\nProficiency in software development for distributed systems with languages such as Go, Python, or similar - you’ve designed, built, and operated production services, not just scripts.\nKnowledge of cloud networking: VPC design and subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, load balancing.\nExperience with edge infrastructure management: CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, and CDN failover strategies.\nExperience building and operating infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).\nCost optimization skills: AWS billing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, right-sizing\nUnderstanding of cloud and infrastructure management concepts, including multi-account governance and organizational tooling; Kubernetes/EKS familiarity is a plus.\nOur Benefits:\nEquity in the company - RSUs\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)\n26 days paid holiday + additional company days off\nRoyalties (KUP)\nHybrid working model (our office is in the Kraków City Centre)\nCommute allowance\nHealth/Dental Coverage - LUX MED VIP for employee and family\nLife Insurance\nTravel Insurance\nPluxee Lunch Card/Multisport Card\nEducation Budget\nMental Health program for employee\nFamily planning program\nEmployee Pension Plan (PPK)\nCompensation Details\nThe starting base salary range for this position is typically zł320,000 - zł360,000per annum.
