It is one of Remitly's fastest-growing lines of business, live across North America and 23 EU countries, and the product surface is still being defined.\nWe're hiring Full-Stack Software Development Engineers to join Remitly Business Engineering in Burnaby. You'll build the experiences that bring businesses onto Remitly and keep them sending: onboarding and business verification (KYB), the send flows, payment requests and receive, and the reporting businesses need to run their books. You'll own features end to end: Go services on the backend, a TypeScript GraphQL layer in the middle, and React / React Native on the front, and you’ll ship to production your code often.\nThis is an AI-native team. We work spec-first: acceptance criteria and tests are written before implementation, coding agents do much of the construction, and engineers spend their time on design judgment, verification, and the product calls an agent can't make. You'll be expected to use tools like Claude Code and Cursor as part of your daily practice, to be skeptical of what they produce, and to help the team get better at using them.\nWe are open to both intermediate level (SDE2) and senior level (SDE3) candidates for this position.\nYou Will\nDesign and ship full stack features end to end - from React frontends to backend services, APIs, and data - breaking complex work into parallel workstreams and driving it from design through launch.\nUse modern AI-assisted and spec-driven development to move faster, while owning the architecture, correctness, and quality that tooling cannot guarantee on its own.\nSet the technical standard with systems that are well-tested, resilient, extensible, and scalable, and that make it easy for others to contribute.\nBuild for money movement at scale, delivering idempotent, observable flows with correct ledgering, reconciliation, and compliance gating.\nUphold our Foundational Excellence standards for security, reliability, and observability, resolving risks before they become incidents.\nDevelop and deliver short- and long-term roadmaps, making tradeoffs across priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.\nMentor and grow the team through code, design, and architecture reviews, and represent Remitly's values and technical bar in interviews.\nCollaborate with partners across Product, Design, Analytics, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Operations to turn customer needs into scalable solutions.\nYou Have\nA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n3+ years of engineering experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.\nExperience as a full stack engineer with React/TypeScript and Go.\nExperience designing secure, scalable, performant software on cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS).\nExperience leading engineers on large features in partnership with Product Management and other stakeholders - breaking work into workstreams, estimating timelines, and coaching through reviews and retrospectives.\nComfort with, or strong enthusiasm for, AI-assisted development tools as a force multiplier.\nClear, objective written and in-person communication, including the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nNice to have: experience in payments, fintech, or money movement.\nCompensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $124,000 to $150,000 CAD for an intermediate level candidate and $152,000 to $190,000 CAD for a senior level candidate.
