Being part of Remote People means being part of a growing, international family.\nPosition overview:\nWe’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our global payroll team and support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across multiple countries.\nThis is a hands-on operational role focused on payroll processing, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution. You’ll work closely with internal teams and payroll partners to review payroll results, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate outputs for our clients and employees.\nYou don’t need to be an expert in every country we support. We’re looking for someone with strong payroll fundamentals, experience managing payroll for at least one country, and the ability to quickly understand new payroll requirements and processes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupport end-to-end payroll processing and validation for multiple countries.\nCollect, review, and validate payroll inputs and outputs.\nPerform payroll reconciliations and identify discrepancies between expected and final results.\nInvestigate payroll differences and work with internal teams or payroll partners to understand and resolve them.\nSupport payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, deductions, and leave.\nReview payroll calculations and supporting information for accuracy.\nCommunicate with internal payroll teams and external partners to resolve payroll questions.\nMaintain accurate payroll records, documentation, and trackers.\nWork with payroll technology and automated validation tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.\nLearn and support additional countries as our global payroll operations continue to evolve.\nQualifications:\nPrevious hands-on payroll experience, ideally including in-house payroll processing.\n\nExperience managing payroll for at least one country independently.\n\nStrong understanding of payroll inputs, calculations, validations, reconciliations, and outputs.\n\nAbility to investigate discrepancies and understand why payroll results have changed.\n\nStrong attention to detail and confidence working with payroll data and numbers.\n\nComfortable using payroll systems, Excel/Google Sheets, and automated tools.\n\nStrong English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and payroll partners.\n\nComfortable learning new systems and adapting to evolving payroll processes.\n\nNice to have:\nPayroll experience in one or more of the following countries: France, Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, or Spain.\n\nExperience with Romania or Austria payroll.\n\nExperience managing payroll across multiple countries.\n\nExposure to additional European or African payroll jurisdictions.\n\nExperience with payroll platforms or systems such as ADP or similar tools.\n\nExperience using automated payroll validation, reconciliation, or AI-enabled tools.\n\nWhat it's like working at Remote People\nOur service & product.
