We’re building a pool of experienced Rust Developers for Part-time Engagements with our clients. You’ll build and maintain high-performance, reliable backend and systems software. Projects range from backend services and APIs to infrastructure tooling, data pipelines and performance-critical components.\nThis role suits engineers who already write production Rust and want flexible, meaningful work alongside their other commitments.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, build and maintain production-grade services and libraries in Rust\nWrite safe, idiomatic and well-tested code, with careful attention to performance and memory use\nBuild async services with Tokio and frameworks such as Axum, Actix-web or Tonic (gRPC)\nProfile and optimize hot paths, and find and fix concurrency, latency and memory issues\nIntegrate with databases, message queues and cloud infrastructure\nReview code, guide less-experienced engineers and contribute to technical design decisions\nWork asynchronously with distributed teams, with clear written communication\nRequirements\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years of production Rust\nA deep understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits and generics\nStrong hands-on experience with async Rust (Tokio, futures, Send/Sync bounds)\nExperience building and running backend services or systems software in production\nSolid grasp of concurrency, memory management and performance profiling\nComfortable with testing in Rust (unit, integration, property-based) and with CI/CD\nExperience with SQL or NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis and so on) through crates such as sqlx, Diesel or SeaORM\nFamiliarity with Docker, Linux and at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure)\nStrong written and spoken English\nReliable availability of 20 hours/week, with 4 hours of overlap with US timezone. \nNice to Have\nUnsafe Rust, FFI (C/C++ or Python via PyO3) or WebAssembly\nEmbedded, networking, blockchain or distributed-systems experience\nOpen-source contributions to the Rust ecosystem\nExperience with observability tools (tracing, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus)\nBackground in C++ or Go\nBenefits\nIn addition to a market competitive compensation, we have a reward philosophy that expand beyond this.\n Fully remote with office optional.
