That is the Alta Way.\nJob Duties & Responsibilities:\nReview project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates.\n\nAnalyze labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs to provide comprehensive pricing.\n\nUtilize estimating software and tools to complete detailed material and quantity takeoffs.\n\nCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to understand geotechnical information, utility plans, and construction phasing.\n\nMonitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.\n\nAssist in bid preparation and submission, ensuring compliance with project/municipal requirements.\n\nParticipate in project meetings and provide input on project feasibility and cost implications.\n\nConduct post-project evaluations to compare estimated costs with actual expenditures,\n\nidentifying areas for improvement.\n\nSafeguard confidential information, including cost data, bid details, and client records, as required by company policy.\n\nObtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for materials, trucking, disposal, equipment, and specialty work, negotiating where necessary.\n\nReview bid documents for scope gaps, conflicts, exclusions, and potential risks.\n\nConduct on-site job walks to analyze existing site conditions compared to project plans.\n\nCommunicate extensively with clients to prepare RFIs and bid clarification questions to ensure bid accuracy.\n\nUpon project award, assist with estimating-to-operations handoff, including quantities, assumptions, subcontractor quotes, and project risks.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nOther Requirements:\n3+ years of experience in estimating, within heavy civil, site development, excavation, grading, demolition, or underground utilities.\n\nStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.\n\nProficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.\n\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.\n\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams and clients.\n\nRegular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.\n\nKnowledge of demolition processes and equipment\n\nProficient in estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or HeavyBid.\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.\n\nKnowledge of local material, trucking, disposal, labor, and equipment costs.\n\nAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).\n\nOther Required Skills & Abilities:\nAbility to work in an office environment and conduct site visits as needed.\n\nCapability to navigate construction sites, which may involve walking on uneven terrain.\n\nAbility to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 lbs as necessary.\n\nAbility to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.\n\nMust be good with multi-tasking and handling multiple projects at the same time.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.\n\nStrong verbal, written, and oral communication skills.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to work in an office environment and conduct site visits as needed.\n\nCapability to navigate construction sites, which may involve walking on uneven terrain.\n\nAbility to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 lbs as necessary.\n\nBenefits:\nCompetitive salary based on experience\n\nMedical, vision & dental benefits\n\n401(k)\n\nPaid Time Off\n\nFrequent team building events and fun working environment\n\nCompensation:\n$80,000 - $120,000 based on experience\n\nBonus incentives based on performance\n\nCompany phone and mileage reimbursement for site visits\n\nJob Details: This is a full-time position on-site, Monday through Friday.
