As purveyors of beauty and connection, we don’t just deliver arrangements-we deliver emotion, meaning, and magic.\nRole Summary\nThe Shop Assistant Lead is responsible for overseeing the Shop Assistant team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the shop environment. This leadership role includes managing schedules, time-off requests, overtime, team meal breaks, cleanliness standards, ordering boutique inventory, and overall team accountability. The Shop Assistant Lead plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence by supporting floral intake, inventory accuracy, cooler organization, supply management, and overall shop readiness.\nThis is a hands-on role in a fast-paced floral production environment requiring strong organization, leadership, and communication skills, along with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership & Management\nLead, coach, and develop the Shop Assistant team including scheduling, time-off requests, overtime, meal penalties, and break compliance.\n\nDelegate daily tasks and ensure responsibilities are completed efficiently and to company standards.\n\nEstablish clear expectations, accountability standards, and performance management practices across the department by holding team members accountable while supporting professional development aligned with company core values and employee handbook guidelines.\n\nConduct regular one on ones, performance conversations, quarterly conversations, coaching sessions, and development with the shop assistant team.\n\nLead by example with a hands-on approach during high-volume periods and daily operations.\n\nCollaborate and partner closely with the Client Service Lead, Dispatch Lead, Design Leads and Regional Operations Manager.\n\nOperational Performance & Accountability\nOwn weekly departmental scorecard metrics and reporting, monitoring performance indicators and driving corrective action as needed.\n\nExecute and deliver quarterly Rocks and departmental priorities in alignment with company EOS goals and L10 meetings.\n\nDevelop, refine, and uphold SOPs, SLAs, LMS updates, service workflows and processes that improve department efficiency and consistency.\n\nAnalyze departmental performance trends and recommend operational improvements to leadership, as needed.\n\nEnsure quality standards, documentation practices, and system usage remain accurate and consistent across the team.\n\nStaffing & Training\nLead interviews, onboarding, and training of all new Shop Assistants across all aspects of the role according to 30/60/90 training schedule.\n\nProvide ongoing coaching and support to ensure consistency and operational excellence.\n\nShop Operations & Inventory\nPerform physically demanding tasks including lifting and moving flowers, arrangements, buckets, glassware, and supplies.\n\nManage and own the inventory process within the Pico boutique. Accurate floral inventory counts and inventory management through our Admin system.\n\nSubmit damaged flower claims via email for credit processing.\n\nManage supply inventory, including glass ordering, add on ordering and ensuring adequate stock levels.\n\nFacilitate Shop Assistant deliveries and pickups as needed.\n\nCollaborate closely with the design team and design lead to ensure all preparations and operational tasks are completed efficiently.\n\nManage floral transfers and team member responsibilities between all three corporate French Florist locations.\n\nCoordinate with internal teams through Slack to support seamless daily operations.\n\nStore Maintenance & Cleanliness\nMaintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, storefront, cooler, breakroom, bathrooms, and parking lot while utilizing the cleanliness audit form.\n\nEnsure cooler maintenance and cleaning tasks are completed consistently.\n\nVase backstock organization.\n\nFix all damaged or broken fixtures within the boutique.\n\nUphold company cleanliness standards across all operational areas.\n\nQualifications\nPrior experience in floral, retail, warehouse, or similarly physically active environments\n\nPrevious leadership or team management experience\n\nValid driver’s license with a clean driving record\n\nStrong organizational and time-management skills\n\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment\n\nFriendly, professional, and team-oriented demeanor\n\nWillingness to work weekends and holidays as needed\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods throughout the shift\n\nAbility to repeatedly lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds\n\nComfortable working in cooler environments and with water-based materials\n\nFrequent use of hands and arms for lifting, organizing, cleaning, and handling floral products and supplies\n\nAbility to maintain focus and productivity in a moderate-noise, fast-paced work environment\n\nSchedule & Compensation\nHourly Rate: $24 -
