You will be working following Extreme Programming (XP) practices and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications across multiple systems in our tech stack, while driving the modernisation and commercial alignment. As a technical leader, you'll mentor team members, champion engineering excellence, and work on both greenfield products and system transformation initiatives.!\nWhat you’ll do\nAs a Lead Engineer, you will be a technical specialist within our development team, working on multiple areas of trading and non-trading platforms.\nTechnical Leadership & Architecture:\nLead the design and architecture of complex, scalable systems.\n\nBuild software based on modern architecture and tech stack, while driving the modernisation where needed, making strategic decisions on refactoring, rebuilding, or replacing components.\n\nChampion best practices in software engineering, including clean code, design patterns, and architectural principles.\n\nEvaluate and introduce new technologies that improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.\n\nWork with operators, analysts, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.\n\nLeadership & Mentoring:\nMentor and guide team members in technical skills, engineering practices, and career development.\n\nLead by example through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions\n\nFoster a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence\n\nSupport team members in adopting XP practices and TDD methodologies\n\nProvide technical direction and remove blockers for the team.\n\nCollaboration & Delivery:\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.\n\nPartner with product owners and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.\n\nContinuously improve trading platforms, processes, and team capabilities.\n\nWhat you will need for the role:\nKey skills & Qualifications required:\nCandidates with 12+ years of experience.\n\nB.Tech / M.Tech candidates preferred.\n\nXP practices: Experience with Extreme Programming practices, particularly TDD, pair programming, and continuous integration.\n\nJava knowledge: Deep understanding of core Java and modern Java frameworks (Spring Boot, etc.)\n\nFrontend knowledge - Good understanding of FrontEnd architecture and experience working with multiple frontend stack.\n\nComplex systems expertise: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems in production environments.\n\nModernisation experience: Demonstrated success in modernising legacy systems, including migrating from monoliths to microservices, refactoring complex codebases, and managing technical debt.\n\nEngineering mindset: Strong focus on engineering fundamentals, including design patterns, SOLID principles, clean architecture, and system design.\n\nLeadership & mentoring: Proven track record of leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and fostering a culture of excellence.\n\nCloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nGood to have:\nFamiliarity with Dora Metrics and engineering metrics-driven improvement.\n\nExperience with event-driven systems, financial platforms, or fintech applications\n\nIf you are enthusiastic about leading teams in an XP (Extreme Programming) environment, driving technical excellence, amiliarity with Dora Metrics and engineering metrics-driven improvement and working closely with the business to deliver exceptional solutions, we encourage you to apply.\n\nThe perks\nIt really is more than a job.
