The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with probers and testers, strong troubleshooting capability, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams to maintain high-quality, high-efficiency test operations. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of test processes and equipment performance.\nBusiness context\nOur test operations organization supports new product introduction (NPI), engineering sample evaluation, and production test readiness for advanced Analog, Power, MCU, and EP semiconductor products. This position is key to dependable test cell operation, data generation for engineering analysis, and smooth coordination with suppliers, cross-functional engineering teams, and production support groups.\nKey Responsibilities\nTest cell operations\nSupport small-volume engineering sample and low-volume production programs.\n\nSet up, dock, and undock ATE systems with probers and handlers according to daily engineering and production needs.\n\nPerform device-level testing manually using ATE and laboratory test equipment.\n\nEquipment troubleshooting and debug\nDiagnose and troubleshoot handlers, probers, and testers, coordinating with Renesas engineers and vendors as needed to restore operation.\n\nDebug ATE hardware, including load boards, probe cards, and socketed test fixtures.\n\nIdentify intermittent test board performance issues and escalate to engineering for root-cause resolution.\n\nData collection\nCollect engineering data using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, multimeters, and basic semiconductor diagnostic tools.\n\nMaintenance, calibration, and compliance\nPerform preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration support for ATE, handlers, probers, and other test equipment.\n\nMaintain calibration records and PM logs to support ISO-9001 audits.\n\nEnsure compliance with safety and quality requirements.\n\n Education\nBachelor / Associate of Science (AS) degree or equivalent in EE, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering\n\nExperience\n5-10 years of hands-on experience testing on ATE systems.\n\nProficiency with wafer probers and handlers, including setup and operation.\n\nHardware inventory management system\n\nTechnical skills\nGood knowledge of circuit design and troubleshooting.\n\nUnderstanding of basic semiconductor test flows and of industry test standards.\n\nSoldering skills.\n\nBasic proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Python scripting will be a plus.\n\nProfessional skills\nStrong troubleshooting skills and willingness to take on challenging technical tasks.\n\nSkilled with documentation; excellent verbal and written communication, including with engineers and cross-functional support teams.\n\nSelf-motivated and conscientious; able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.\n\nAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.\n\nPreferred Experience\nTest Platforms\nAdvantest 93K, Teradyne Eagle/UFlex, Cohu DiamondX, SPEA DOT800C\nWafer probers\nTEL, Accretech\nHandlers\nTalos, Seiko, JHT, Hontech\n The expected annual pay range for this position is 35.00-45.00/hr. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities.
