Candidates must have already completed their degree or be graduating in January 2027, with all degree requirements completed before their agreed start date.\nResponsibilities and Day-to-Day Activities\nPartner with senior Field Applications Engineers to support customer programs from initial design through validation and production.\n\nAssist with the validation, characterization, and optimization of Renesas digital multiphase power solutions for AI, cloud, server, and networking applications.\nConduct hands-on laboratory testing, including efficiency measurements, load transient testing, power sequencing, telemetry verification, protection feature validation, and power rail characterization.\nSupport customer board bring-up, power-supply debugging, fault analysis, and root-cause investigations.\nParticipate in schematic reviews, component selection, and PCB layout reviews for high-current power delivery systems.\nPrepare technical reports, characterization summaries, validation documentation, and customer presentations.\nDevelop proficiency with laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, electronic loads, network analyzers, power analyzers, and source measure instruments.\nAssist with test automation and data analysis to improve validation efficiency and consistency.\nCollaborate with Applications Engineering, Product Marketing, Product Line Management, and Sales to support customer engagements and design wins.\nBuild the technical expertise, communication skills, and customer experience needed to take on increasing responsibility for customer design, validation, and troubleshooting activities.\n Education and Start Date\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.\nDegree already completed or expected to be completed in January 2027, with all degree requirements fulfilled before the agreed start date.\nAvailable to begin full-time employment in January 2027.\nRequirements\nAcademic, laboratory, or project experience in power electronics and analog circuit design.\nFoundational understanding of DC-DC converters, switching power supplies, circuit analysis, and feedback control.\nAbility to apply engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot problems, interpret test results, and develop practical solutions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings clearly.\nAbility to collaborate effectively and learn from experienced engineers.\nWillingness to perform hands-on laboratory work and travel periodically to customer sites.\nLocated in, or willing to relocate to, the Austin area to work regularly at Renesas’ West Lake Hills laboratory and support customer visits.
