This role supports test floor performance analysis, equipment effectiveness tracking, shop floor layout, and factory automation initiatives across the PZ3 and KD test floors.\nThe Industrial Engineer works closely with the Senior Industrial Engineer and cross-functional teams to collect data, identify improvement opportunities, and help execute floor-level initiatives - building the analytical and hands-on foundation for growth into a more senior IE role.\nKey Responsibilities\nCollect and analyze test output entitlement versus actual performance data to support improvement initiatives.\nTrack equipment OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) against target and support root-cause gap analysis.\nSupport test floor layout improvements to enhance material flow, equipment utilization, and floor efficiency.\nAssist in shop floor layout design, including material mobility tools (carts, AMRs/AGVs) and WIP staging areas.\nSupport daily shop floor planning activities in coordination with Production and Planning teams.\nConduct regular audits of device UPH (Units Per Hour) to validate test time accuracy and flag deviations.\nIdentify opportunities for factory internal process optimization across man and machine utilization.\nSupport factory automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and improve throughput and consistency.\nAssist with ISO and other factory quality/compliance audits by preparing data, documentation, and process evidence.\nParticipate in benchmarking activities to help harmonize test floor practices and KPIs across sites.\nSupport equipment movement activities, including internal relocations and external transfers.\nAssist with asset tracking and basic lifecycle record-keeping for test equipment.\nCoordinate with Equipment, Quality, Planning, and Production teams to help resolve floor-level issues.\nPrepare performance data and reports to support management review and decision-making.\nCore Competencies\nAnalytical Rigor - Conclusions are backed by data and root-cause analysis, not assumptions\nFloor Presence & Data Collection - Spends time on the floor to validate data rather than relying only on reports\nProcess Improvement Mindset - Actively looks for small, practical improvements rather than accepting the status quo\nTeam Collaboration - Works effectively with Production, Equipment, Planning, and Quality to get things done\n Learning Agility - Picks up new tools, systems, and methods quickly and applies them on the floor\n Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.\n2-4 years of experience in semiconductor backend test manufacturing, or a strong internship/co-op background in a similar environment.\nWorking knowledge of OEE analysis, capacity/UPH studies, and floor layout concepts.\nGood data analysis skills (Excel required; exposure to SQL, Minitab, or similar tools a plus).\nBasic understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.\nFamiliarity with semiconductor test equipment and factory MES/data systems is an advantage.\nAbility to work on the production floor and collaborate across shifts and functions.\nPreferred Skills\nLean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.\nExposure to factory automation projects (robotics, AMRs/AGVs, or equipment integration).\nPrior exposure to structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, PDCA).\nExperience with CMMS or factory data collection systems.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to a team.\n Renesas is an embedded semiconductor solution provider driven by its Purpose, To Make Our Lives Easier.
