Join us and build your future by being part of what’s next in electronics and the world.\n Role Overview\nThe Sr Hardware Validation engineer serves as embedded hardware domain expert, driving product and platform design quality, evaluation and validation objectives, and technical execution while collaborating closely with systems, firmware/software, validation, and platform develop teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead hardware validation planning and execution of embedded products, applications and solutions utilizing a wide portfolio of Renesas products\nDrive hardware technical decisions, ensuring robustness, usability and completeness of hardware platforms\nOwn hardware execution from ideation, validation through qualification and production readiness.\nCollaborate closely with systems, firmware/software, validation, and product engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.\nIdentify and mitigate hardware-related technical risks, ensuring highest user experience\nPlanning and execution of new product prototype bring-up, bench-testing, and evaluation. \nSupport creation and review of technical documentation (Datasheets, User Manuals/Guides, Application Notes etc)\nFeedback findings, issues, potential improvements to product development teams\nContribute to reference designs, development platforms, and documentation to enable broad customer adoption.\nAct as a technical mentor, influencing best practices and raising the bar for hardware design excellence.\n B. Tech/M. Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, with at least 5- 7 years of experience\n5-7 years of experience in embedded hardware and system design and validation encompassing microcontrollers, power management and analog/mixed-signal products\nStrong understanding of SoC architecture, ARM cores (A/M series), peripherals, power/clock/reset, and low-power design techniques.\nExperience validating high-speed interfaces (e.g., DDR, USB, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet) and standard protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, etc.).\nKnowledge of C/C++ or embedded programming for firmware development\nHands-on experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, thermal sensors).\nFamiliarity with validation frameworks, debug utilities (JTAG, Lauterbach, OpenOCD), and issue tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla).\nStrong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.\nHands-on experience with Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis for high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power-dense designs.\nApplying best practices in schematic design, PCB layout, stack-up definition, decoupling strategies, and grounding.\nProven experience delivering embedded hardware designs from concept through production.\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience supporting embedded development platforms or reference designs with broad customer adoption across Industrial IoT, Home/Building Automation and Automotive segments\nExecute validation of boot flows, power/clock/reset, memory subsystems, interconnects, and interfaces across stress, corner, and fault scenarios.\nDrive system bring-up on evaluation boards, emulation/FPGA platforms, and silicon validation setups.\nPerform hands-on silicon hardware and root-cause analysis, working closely with design, DV, firmware, and software teams to drive closure.\nAnalyse validation data and logs, track issues through structured closure, and contribute to quality metrics.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the validation team.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level messaging and presentations.\nAbility to work effectively in a multicultural, cross-functional environment.\n Renesas is an embedded semiconductor solution provider driven by its Purpose ‘To Make Our Lives Easier.’ As the industry’s leading expert in embedded processing with unmatched quality and system-level know-how, we have evolved to provide scalable and comprehensive semiconductor solutions for automotive, industrial, infrastructure, and IoT industries based on the broadest product portfolio, including High Performance Computing, Embedded Processing, Analog & Connectivity, and Power.\nWith a diverse team of over 21,000 professionals in more than 30 countries, we continue to expand our boundaries to offer enhanced user experiences through digitalization and usher into a new era of innovation.
