You will provide pragmatic advice and support the development of proportionate compliance frameworks, while supporting our core values of Innovation, Inspiration, Integrity and Involvement.\nYou will be confident working with legal, technical and commercial stakeholders, translating regulatory requirements into clear and practical actions, influencing adoption by the wider organisation, and monitoring ongoing compliance.\nKey responsibilities\nCarry out regulatory horizon scanning for new and emerging compliance requirements and corresponding guidance from authorities in the UK, EU and other key jurisdictions.\nAdvise on the interpretation of relevant legislation such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act.\nWork closely with stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into proportionate compliance frameworks.\nCreate, maintain and improve templates, playbooks, policies, procedures, training materials and other know-how to support those frameworks.\nRespond to customer due diligence questions on regulatory topics.\nProvide pragmatic, risk-based advice on complex regulatory issues, balancing legal requirements, customer expectations and operational challenges.\nManage external specialist counsel where required, including for jurisdiction-specific regulatory advice.\nContribute to the growth of the L&S team by supervising and supporting the development of junior colleagues.\nSupport or lead (as applicable) internal L&S projects and process improvement initiatives.\nSupport other L&S activities during busy periods.\nKey requirements\nRegulatory counsel or compliance officer with at least 3 years’ experience advising on, interpreting, and implementing regulatory frameworks in a practical business context.\nA good working understanding of product compliance, software development, and vulnerability handling.\nGood understanding of cyber security and resilience practices and relevant legislation including the Cyber Resilience Act and NIS2.\nExcellent attention to detail, legal research and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear policies, procedures, briefings and stakeholder communications.\nStrong analytical skills and the ability to apply complex or emerging regulatory requirements to real-world products, systems and processes.\nCommercial awareness and the confidence to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice to legal, technical and commercial stakeholders.\nAn ability to build effective relationships and influence people at all levels of the business, including specialist technical teams.\nExperience supporting cross-functional implementation projects, including coordinating input from legal, technical, commercial and operational stakeholders.\nImpeccable integrity, a ‘can do’ attitude, and a willingness and ability to lead by example.\nAn appetite to learn continually and share your experience and knowledge with colleagues.\nDesirable\nExperience in any other compliance areas, such as anti-bribery and corruption, data protection, or competition, would also be helpful but is not essential.\nBenefits\nWhen you join Renishaw, we're committing to your future career.
