Primarily field-based, you will work hands-on at customer sites across the UK - with occasional international travel - carrying out service, maintenance, calibration, and verification on a range of metrology equipment.\nIn this role, you will ensure systems operate to the highest standards, meeting ISO 10360-2/5 requirements and directly supporting Renishaw’s global reputation for metrology excellence, accuracy, and trust. Your work will have a visible impact on customer confidence, product quality, and manufacturing performance.\nRenishaw will provide comprehensive training and structured on-the-job development, enabling you to build the skills and confidence required to work independently in the field. As your experience grows, there is clear potential for progression within the team, offering long-term career development within a world-leading engineering organisation.\nKey Responsibilities\nCore Calibration & Technical Duties\nPerform Service and maintenance to a high standard on CMMs and Equator-X machines\n\nPerform ISO 10360-2 and ISO 10360-5 verification and calibration on CMMs and Equator-X machines, following approved Renishaw procedures\n\nSet up, stabilise, and measure with calibrated artefacts (gauge blocks, step gauges, spheres, temperature sensors) in accordance with company processes.\n\nPrepare and apply calibration labels, certificates, and documentation to customer equipment.\n\nConduct performance analysis, including error mapping using laser interferometers (XL-80 / XM600).\n\nDiagnose causes of verification failures and advise customers on corrective actions.\n\nSupport installation and commissioning teams where calibration expertise is required (e.g., post-retrofit verification).\n\nMaintain accurate calibration records, equipment logs and follow company calibration database processes.\n\nCustomer Interaction & Support\nProvide expert guidance on calibration standards, measurement uncertainty, and machine performance.\n\nCommunicate test results clearly, ensuring customers understand compliance status and any follow-up recommendations.\n\nDeliver on-site user guidance on maintaining machine performance and environmental best practices.\n\nRepresent Renishaw professionally, building strong customer relationships and trust.\n\nContinuous Improvement & Feedback\nSupply feedback to engineering, metrology and R&D teams regarding recurring calibration issues or product improvements.\n\nAssist in refining calibration procedures, internal best practice, and customer documentation.\n\nContribute to raising global calibration standardisation across the service network.\n\nKey Requirements\nHNC Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, Mechatronics or equivalent.\n\nPrevious experience in a customer facing, field based role.\n\nExcellent customer-facing communication and professionalism\n\nMethodical, detail-driven mindset with analytical skills.\n\nCapable of working independently on customer sites with minimal supervision.\n\nStrong ownership and reliability in delivering high-quality calibration outcomes.\n\nAdditional Requirements\nUK driving licence.\n\nWillingness and availability for frequent travel with overnight stays during the week, including occasional overseas assignments.\n\nAbility to work in controlled environments and follow strict calibration procedures.\n\nDesirable Experience but not essential\nProven experience in calibration, metrology, CMM verification, or precision engineering.\n\nBackground in high-precision industries (aerospace, automotive, medical, advanced manufacturing).\n\nUnderstanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, and traceability.\n\nExperience with Renishaw CMM technologies including Equator-X, REVO-2, UCCServer, and calibration databases (e.g., QC Gages).\n\nAbility to interpret calibration certificates, metrology reports, and technical drawings.\n\nAdditional role specific benefits\nFully expensed Company Car\n\nAllowance for travel and daily sustenance expenses\n\n10% Field Service allowance\n\nextensive on the job training & development\n\nBenefits\nWhen you join Renishaw, we're committing to your future career.
