The role supports customer success by ensuring technical information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with company standards.\nWorking within the Technical Communications and Localisation team, the Technical Writer collaborates with subject matter experts across engineering, product management, software development, service, quality, and marketing to develop content that supports the complete customer journey.\nThe role will also support Renishaw's adoption of Heretto CCMS and DITA structured authoring, contributing to content reuse, multi-channel publishing, and the migration of legacy content into the new content platform.\nResponsibilities\nCreate, edit, review, and maintain customer-facing technical documentation, including: User guides, Installation instructions, Programming manuals, Data sheets, Online help, and web content.\nGather technical information from engineers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.\nTranslate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-focused content.\nEnsure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with Renishaw standards, terminology, and style guidelines.\nUse DITA XML and Heretto CCMS to create, manage, and publish structured content.\nApply content reuse and modular authoring principles to improve consistency and efficiency.\nSupport the migration and transformation of legacy documentation into the new CCMS environment.\nParticipate in content reviews and approval workflows.\nWork with localisation teams to support translation and global content delivery.\nContribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes, standards, and tooling.\nSupport new product introductions by delivering documentation to agreed project schedules.\nCollaborate with colleagues across Technical Communications and Localisation to ensure a consistent customer experience across all content channels.\nKey requirements\nExperience creating technical documentation within an engineering, manufacturing, software, or technology environment.\nExcellent written English and strong communication skills.\nAbility to analyse complex information and present it clearly for different audiences.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nExperience working with document management or content management systems.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.\nExperience working collaboratively with technical subject matter experts.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nDesirable requirements\nExperience with DITA XML and structured authoring.\nExperience using a CCMS, ideally Heretto or a similar platform.\nUnderstanding of content reuse, single sourcing, and multi-channel publishing.\nExperience with localisation and translation workflows.\nFamiliarity with Jira or similar project management tools.\nExperience creating online help, knowledge base, or web-based documentation.\nTechnical qualification or experience within an engineering discipline.\nPerson specification\nYou will be customer-focused, curious and eager to learn new technologies, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
