Reporting to the Director, Service, Life Sciences, the Life Science Engineer, Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership to assigned engineers within the region to organize workflow to provide excellent and efficient customer services and establish performance improvement objects and goals for increase in quality and performance. This individual will also perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and validation of equipment ranging from simple devices such as water purification, scales/ balances, centrifuges, freezers/LN2 storage units/refrigerators, incubators, and humidity chambers to high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC/UPLC), and Fast protein liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, single quadrupole and triple quadrupole mass spectrometers or equivalent instruments.\nWhat you will do:\nOversee the engineering work schedule of multiple locations, or a single facility with multiple engineers\nCollaborate with the Director, Service on site specific metrics, KPIs, and performance of the engineers\nPartner with Regional Directors to understand site specific variances and execute plans for service delivery optimization\nDeliver service solutions within assigned area for all instruments, equipment and laboratory supplies, within assigned install base\nInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and support multi-vendor product suites of chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment systems\nManage customer expectations by communicating work performed and providing a follow-up plan when necessary\nDeliver system level training to employees and customers at customer sites\nAudit work orders for accuracy and timely documentation of work performed\nTrain, motivate and coach employees to ensure attentive, efficient customer service, and safety procedures\nAssess employee performance and provide feedback and training opportunities\nDevelop standards for operation, maintenance, and calibration of instruments\nEnsure compliance with RENOVO and customer site safety policies and procedures\nAnalyze service data and make recommendations for technical and/or business improvements\nPartner with Renovo sourcing department alternate parts and service sourcing and negotiate discounting with OEMs\nAssist Engineering Manager with special projects, identifying resources and training needs\nWorking with Renovo site engineers, ensure rolling 12 month PM schedule is accurate\nSupport periodic operations and business reviews\nResponsible for GxP validations of SOPs, modifying SOPs, writing and confirming procedures and work instructions\nOversees compliance of engineers in GxP and supports GxP service events\nPerforms other duties as assigned by your Manager, including escorting vendors\nQualifications:\n5+ years experience in a related field required\nExtensive knowledge of mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography instrumentation is required\nExperience as a service engineer or application scientist for one or several MS manufacturers preferred\n1+ years of leadership experience preferred\nEducation/Special Training:\nMinimum Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Sciences required\nRequired Competencies:\nAccountability - takes ownership of assigned work and responsibilities, follows through, and closes the loop\nCommunication - clearly expresses thoughts and ideas both in written and verbal communications, provides timely information\nFinancial Acumen - Considers financial impact of all decisions\nIntegrity - Can admit mistakes, is direct and truthful\nCustomer Service - demonstrates a “customer-first” mentality, focused on meeting the needs of customers and captures feedback to make improvements\nPriority Setting - Prioritizes assigned schedules and workload\nTeam Building - Mentors newer technicians, facilitates clear communication amongst the team, demonstrates care and respect for co-workers and colleagues\nGiving Feedback - Provides constructive feedback towards department goals and activities, helps to foster growth within the team\nClassification:\nFLSA: Non-Exempt\n**Note: This position description does not list every activity, duty, and responsibility of the position and may be altered by RENOVO at any time.\n EEO Statement\nRENOVO Solutions provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
