Location: Des Moines, Iowa\nJob Summary\nThe Service, Inventory & Operations Manager is responsible for maximizing resources including people, inventory, equipment, and time to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. This position oversees warehouse operations, inventory management, purchasing, service scheduling, field service execution, and employee development for The Filter Shop's Des Moines operation.\nThe successful candidate will maintain proper inventory levels, develop efficient service and warehouse processes, coordinate customer service activities, manage employees, and ensure that commitments made to customers and team members are consistently fulfilled. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to support both office and field operations.\nEssential Job Functions\nInventory & Warehouse Management\nManage all product fulfillment and warehouse operations.\nOversee receiving, inspection, and proper storage of incoming inventory.\nDevelop inventory location systems, SKU organization, and warehouse labeling.\nConduct cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.\nContinuously improve warehouse efficiency and inventory control processes. \nService Operations Management\nManage scheduling, staffing, and execution of filter change services.\nCoordinate labor, equipment, vehicles, and materials necessary for service projects.\nEnsure customer service commitments are met safely, efficiently, and professionally.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts.\nAssist in developing service procedures and operational standards.\nSupport service technicians in the field when necessary.\nMonitor service quality, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.\nLeadership & Team Development\nSupervise warehouse personnel, drivers, service technicians, and support staff.\nHire, onboard, train, coach, and develop employees.\nConduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback.\nAddress employee concerns professionally and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.\nPromote a culture focused on safety, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.\nCritical Characteristics & Skills\nIntegrity and accountability.\nStrong leadership and people management abilities.\nExcellent organizational and planning skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.\nStrong attention to detail and follow-through, safety and quality standards\nQualifications\nMinimum of five (5) years of leadership, management, or operational experience.\nExperience with inventory management, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, or service operations.\nDemonstrated success leading and developing employees.\nExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP/inventory systems.\nStrong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nEquivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.\nMust possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.\nMust be comfortable working on ladders and at heights when needed. \nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds frequently.\nAbility to work in warehouse, industrial, construction, and customer-site environments.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.\nAbility to safely operate warehouse and material-handling equipment.\nMust be able to travel locally throughout the Des Moines metro area and surrounding markets as required. \nCompensation & Benefits\nThe Filter Shop offers a competitive compensation package designed to reward leadership, performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.\nCompensation\n Competitive Salary Range: based on experience and qualifications.\nPerformance-based bonus opportunities tied to service profitability, inventory accuracy, customer retention, safety performance, and departmental goals.\nBenefits\n401(k) retirement plan with company match.\nPaid vacation and holidays.\nPaid training and professional development opportunities.\nCompany-provided tools, technology, and equipment.\nCompany vehicle or allowance for business-related travel, as applicable.\nCareer advancement opportunities within a growing organization.\nWork Schedule\nFull-time position.\nTypical schedule is Monday through Friday. 7:30am -
