RENTEQ Automotive is looking for two software people who are curious, learn fast and want to try their hand at a bit of everything. You do not need to be a specialist or have many years of experience. What matters most is that you are adaptable and eager to learn.\nAbout RENTEQ\nRENTEQ Automotive is a Danish company at the forefront of electrifying existing diesel machines and vehicles. We convert everything from vans to dumpers and excavators, and all the vehicles run on control software we develop ourselves. We are a growing startup with short decision paths, a small team, and our workshop and offices under one roof in Dragør.\nWhat is it like to work with us?\nOur software developers are never far from the product. The workshop is right next door, and the changes you make in the morning can be tested in a vehicle in the afternoon. We are a small team where everyone helps each other, and you will quickly work closely with engineers, mechanics and management.\nWe do not expect you to know everything from day one. You will get time to learn our system, and support from colleagues working with CAN, embedded software, high voltage and testing. In return, we expect you to be curious, ask questions and be keen to get stuck in.\nThe job\nYou will start by getting to know our system: how the vehicles are controlled, how the software is structured, and how it all ties together with CAN and hardware. After that, you will become part of the daily software work and help develop the system further. Our control software is currently built in Simulink, and we are moving parts of it to C/C++, so you will work with both.\nYour tasks will include:\n• Get to know our control software and how it works together with the vehicle\n• Flash and test software on the bench and in the vehicles\n• Test new components and help integrate them into the system\n• Debug using CAN logs and measurement data\n• Help develop new features and improve existing ones\n• Document what you learn and build so the rest of the team can use it too.\nIs this you?\nWe are looking for broad profiles rather than specialists. You may be a recent graduate or have a few years of experience. What matters most is that you have a good foundation and a desire to learn.\n• A degree in software, electronics, mechatronics, automation or similar, or equivalent experience\n• Programming experience, for example C, C++, Python or Matlab\n• Curious, adaptable and quick to learn new things\n• You enjoy hands on work and seeing things work in real life\n• Good English skills, Danish is an advantage\nIt is a plus if you have tried some of the following, but it is not a requirement:\n• Simulink or Stateflow\n• Embedded software or microcontrollers\n• CAN bus and tools such as PCAN or Vector\n• Electric vehicles, batteries or high voltage systems\n• Git.\nWhat we offer\n• A job where you see your software running in real vehicles on the road and on construction sites\n• A fast-paced professional development opportunity with broad insight into software, hardware and electric vehicles\n• A small, informal team where asking questions and helping each other comes naturally\n• Varied tasks on many different vehicles and machines\n• The opportunity to grow with the company and shape how we build our software going forward\n• Workshop and offices in Dragør with easy access by car or public transport.\nSalary\nSalary is set individually based on gender neutral criteria: education, work experience and other qualifications.
