This role identifies potential hazards and conditions and works cross-functionally to continually mitigate risk and improve workplace operations. As the regional EHS leader, this role recommends solutions to protect workers and the environment, trains employees on how to work safely, and maintains documentation of EHS programs, procedures, and activities. This role works in conjunction with HR and other managers to manage incident claims, investigations, root cause, and to develop and verify actions for prevention.\nThis role is expected to model our Leadership Behaviors-Integrity & Compliance, Customer Focus, Collaboration, Courage, Team Empowerment, and Accountability & Results-in all aspects of work.\nResponsibilities\nServing as a trusted organizational partner who drives a proactive safety culture by inspiring collaborative, team-led solutions and providing EHS subject matter expertise\nLeading the development and implementation of EHS programs for manufacturing site and field-based operations\nAssessing, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on environmental health and safety performance\nDeveloping, implementing, and improving EHS programs and management systems to ensure full alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements\nCollaborating with site engineering and operations to develop energy control procedures, deliver lockout/tagout training, and continuously improve the site’s energy control program\nAssessing workplace electrical hazards to develop and implement a comprehensive electrical safety program aligned with OSHA and NFPA 70E standards\nCollaborating with process engineering to identify, assess, and control machine guarding hazards through engineered solutions\nOverseeing emergency preparedness, response coordination, and the management of hazardous materials and waste\nServing as the site's primary point of contact for Global EHS, regulatory agencies, customers, and third-party audits\nLeading comprehensive EHS inspections, job hazard assessments, and chemical approval workflows while driving timely corrective and preventive action resolutions to mitigate workplace risks\nPreparing and delivering regular EHS performance reports and metrics for site and network leadership\nManaging and improving EHS documentation systems to ensure complete audit readiness and legal compliance\nImplementing an EHS contractor management program to ensure all on-site third-party workers adhere to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and site-specific requirements\nCollaborate with Global EHS to develop and improve global processes, procedures, training, and initiatives\nInvestigate and document all workplace accidents and incidents, focusing on root-cause analysis to implement preventative measures and foster organizational learning\nEnsuring the timely escalation and communication of EHS issues, critical risks, and remediation plans to site leadership, Global EHS and senior management\nCoordinate with the building owner to prevent and manage facility-related EHS risks\nEducation, Experience, Skills, Competencies\nBachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field, A Masters degree is preferred\nProfessional Certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM\nDeep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and international EHS regulations\nComprehensive understanding and proven experience implementing lockout tagout, electrical safety, and machine guarding programs\nWorking knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001\n7+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment is required with 2-3 years in a leadership role is preferred\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities\nCollaborative, partnership-oriented approach\nComfortable operating in matrixed, global organizations\nLean or continuous improvement background\nAbility to travel (up to 25%) to global manufacturing locations and field sites\nAble to conduct site walkthroughs, inspections, and audits in manufacturing environments\nStrong computer, attention to detail, and recordkeeping skills\nOur mission is to inspire advances in bioprocessing as a trusted partner in the production of biologic drugs that improve human health worldwide. The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $103,000 -140,000.00. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
