This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop skills and knowledge in the Engineering Fabrication trade while working towards completing their apprenticeship program and gaining the necessary qualifications.\nApprenticeship rates will apply.\nWhy choose the Port | Port of Townsville\nEmployee Value Proposition\nPosition specific responsibilities\nAssist with the installation and maintenance of the Port’s wharves, floating, static, heavy and light plant and equipment\n\nSupport inspection, maintenance and servicing tasks on fixed and mobile assets.\n\nOperate hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment in accordance with training and competency levels.\n\nFollow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.\n\nComplete theoretical and practical training as required by the apprenticeship program.\n\nAttend classes, workshops, and training sessions as part of the apprenticeship program to gain necessary skills and qualifications.\n\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of new fabrication technologies, tools, and industry best practices.\n\nAssist in the maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and job sites.\n\nKeep accurate records of work performed, including materials used and tasks completed.\n\nReport any incidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions promptly to the Supervisor.\n\nWork alongside other tradespeople to complete projects effectively and efficiently.\n\nUndertake other duties commensurate with the position, training and competency requirements as directed by the Seaside Maintenance Supervisor.\n\nEssential criteria\nMandatory requirements/qualifications/tickets/licences:\nNational Police Check\n\nMust be eligible to enroll in a formal apprenticeship program\n\nC Class Driver’s License\n\nConstruction Induction (White Card), or ability to obtain prior to commencement\n\nPre-employment Medical -
