Repsol is seeking a highly motivated engineering student to join our Wells Exploration Team in Anchorage, Alaska for the Summer 2027 internship program.\nAre you interested in designing wells, solving complex engineering challenges, and supporting the next generation of Alaska exploration projects? Join Repsol's Wells Exploration Team and gain hands-on experience supporting the planning and preparation of an Alaska exploration drilling campaign. You'll help transform engineering data into actionable insights while seeing how exploration wells move from concept to execution.\nThis internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the planning of the Silverwind Exploration Project, one of Repsol's key Alaska exploration initiatives. Working alongside experienced drilling engineers and technical professionals, you'll gain hands-on exposure to well planning, well engineering, project execution, performance analysis, and operational readiness activities.\nThis opportunity is geared toward students pursuing Petroleum Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines who are interested in careers in drilling engineering, well construction, and upstream operations. At the conclusion of the internship, you'll present your project findings and recommendations to technical and business leaders.\nAs a Drilling Engineering Intern, you will:\nReceive mentorship from experienced drilling and wells professionals.\nSupport a major Alaska exploration project with meaningful business impact.\nGain hands-on experience applying engineering principles to real drilling and well planning challenges.\nDevelop technical, analytical, and project management skills.\nCollaborate with Wells, HSE, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, and Subsurface teams.\nBuild professional relationships across Repsol while gaining exposure to industry-standard engineering and analytics tools.\nWhat You'll Do\nThe Drilling Engineering Intern will support the Wells team in the planning and preparation of drilling activities for the Silverwind Exploration Project.\nKey responsibilities include:\nSupporting drilling engineers with well planning activities, engineering calculations, technical evaluations, data analysis, and documentation.\nDeveloping and maintaining Power BI dashboards to track drilling KPIs, project schedules, costs, tendering progress, and performance metrics.\nCreating and enhancing Excel-based engineering tools, reports, and project databases.\nAssisting with well programs, engineering reports, technical presentations, and project updates.\nOrganizing and analyzing offset well data, benchmarking information, and lessons learned from previous drilling campaigns.\nSupporting drilling cost tracking, performance analysis, and operational readiness efforts.\nCollaborating with Wells, HSE, Supply Chain, Logistics, Subsurface, and other project teams.\nPresenting project findings, recommendations, and key learnings to Repsol leadership at the conclusion of the internship.\nRequired Qualifications\nAuthorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Repsol is unable to sponsor employment under OPT/CPT/F-1 visa programs.\nPursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nThis internship is ideal for current junior-level students. Students with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028 are strongly encouraged to apply.\nMinimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, verified through an unofficial transcript.\nAvailable for the full internship period from May 17, 2027 through August 6, 2027.\nDemonstrated interest in drilling engineering, well construction, exploration projects, and the oil and gas industry.\nPower BI experience preferred, including dashboard development and data visualization.\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and engineering data analysis.\nStrong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate meaningful insights.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative.\nAbility to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.\nInternship Details\nPosition will be based in Anchorage, Alaska.\nInterns are expected to work onsite throughout the internship.\nPreference will be given to students attending Alaska universities and colleges.\nNon-local candidates may be considered but must arrange their own travel and temporary accommodations.
