To achieve this, the PE Intern will provide support to continually evaluate the asset’s production against potential to identify and implement optimization opportunities required to achieve the asset’s potential. The PE Intern will be involved with all aspects of production from the sand face through to the sales point. PE involves five main processes including design/modeling, planning, monitoring, optimization and well integrity. All PE actions will drive towards the optimization of the asset’s production and profitability while maintaining compliance with all Repsol policies and Safety and Environmental regulations.\nJob Description: The successful candidate will be assigned a project within an area of interest to be supervised by a senior member of the Production Engineering Team, collaborating as follows:\nSupport the PE team in the validation of the production back allocation process in Energy Components to analyze daily closing production figures and deferred production.\n\nSupport the PE team in the identification of deferred production and establish corrective actions to minimize economic and production impact on the asset.\n\nSupport the PE team in the compilation and analysis of available information related to reservoir qualities and surface infrastructure.\n\nSupport the PE team in the analysis of current lifting systems for the wells and the asset to propose and implement opportunities for optimization relating to both production and profitability.\n\nSupport the PE team in the compilation and analysis of all budget inputs related to OPEX to conduct budget exercises to identify opportunities for economic optimization.\n\nSupport the PE team in the tracking of the annual data acquisition plan for production and reservoir requirements.\n\nAbility to effectively work within a multidiscipline team and matrix organization.\n\nAbility to establish a strong communication channel with the field personnel\n\nCoordinate field visits with your supervisor.\n\nRequirements for Consideration:\nFully authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.\n\nSuccessful completion of 2 years towards a Bachelor's (or higher) in an Engineering discipline - Petroleum or Chemical engineering preferred but open to other engineering disciplines.\n\nStudents with an expected graduation 2028-2029 are encouraged to apply (juniors or sophomores). May 2027 graduates may only be considered if enrolled in a post-graduate program.\n\nMust have cumulative and major GPA of 3.3 or higher, to be confirmed with transcript (unofficial transcript is acceptable)\n\nMust be available for a continuous 12-week period for the duration of the 2027 summer intern program, starting May 17th and ending on August 6th.\n\nPreference for candidates with some internship experience, ideally within oil & gas but not required.\nRequired Skills & Experience:\nStrong interest in data analysis, business analytics, problem-solving, and critical thinking.\n\nAbility to work with data and derive meaningful insights.\n\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\n\nDetail-oriented, highly motivated, and organized.\n\nAble to manage multiple tasks with responsibility and precision.\n\nEagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and analytical methods.\n\nAbility to work independently and take initiative.\n\nWillingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed.\n\nAbility to interact in a team environment.\n\nInternship Details:\nPosition will be based out of our office in The Woodlands, TX. Interns are expected onsite Monday-Friday, with the exception of 9/80's. The 9/80 schedule is optional per the manager's discretion, based on intern project scope and timeline.\n\nNon-local candidates may be considered but must arrange their own travel and temporary accommodations. A summer stipend will be provided to help offset out of pocket expenses.\n\nStudents must be available for the full duration of the internship from May 17-Aug 6. Any personal time off must be approved by the supervisor as unpaid leave and should be noted with the recruiter as early as possible.\n\nInterns will receive an hourly wage but are not eligible for benefits or paid time off.
