Join us in shaping the future of energy.\nJob Summary\nThe Senior Project Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for Repsol, vendors, and the internal project team. The role acts as a liaison between the contractor’s engineering team, the Repsol engineering team and Project Manager. The role also serves as the technical integrator across all project phases, ensuring engineering deliverables, design assumptions, and technical interfaces are aligned and execution-ready.\nThe position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProject Planning & Controls\nWork with the Project team to develop basis of design and project technical objectives by reviewing project proposals, schedules, and design requirements.\nAlign project technical objectives with schedule milestones.\nProduce and/or review meeting minutes for project meetings.\nIdentify critical path items and coordinate corrective actions in collaboration with the Project Manager to address progress-limiting factors and support schedule recovery efforts.\nPrepare engineering status reports and track action items by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing project data, trends, risks, and technical issues.\nEngineering Management & Integration\nOversee and manage engineering deliverables across the full lifecycle (development through operation turnover).\nAct as the technical integrator ensuring coordination of engineering and design inputs, assumptions, and interfaces.\nServe as primary technical interface between EPCs, OEMs, consultants, and internal teams.\nProvide technical input for engineering and design deliverables and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering production across civil, structural, electrical, SCADA, interconnection, and commissioning disciplines.\nFacilitate preparation and review of design criteria, technical specifications, datasheets, one-line diagrams, schematics, and other engineering design documentation.\nProcurement & Contracting\nSupport conceptual design packages for RFP development.\nDevelop and manage RFP technical exhibits.\nPrepare Request for Price (RFP) packages.\nReview vendor quotes and manage technical bid evaluations.\nLead bidder clarifications, Q&A, and deviation tracking.\nSupport bid evaluations and technical negotiations.\nDevelop technical bid evaluation reports and recommendation packages for major equipment and EPC procurement activities.\nDesign & Technical Coordination\nOrganize project scope of work and specifications based on company standards.\nProvide engineering technical support from early development through project close out.\nFacilitate technical reviews of civil, structural, electrical and SCADA design documents.\nReview engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with Company requirements, specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.\nManage project design execution and ensure all project comments and technical risk reach resolution and close out.\nEngineering Reviews & Documentation\nCoordinate internal technical reviews across SMEs and Owner’s engineer.\nManage engineering deliverables and submittal documentation.\nEnsure project adherence to and implementation of Company Standards and technical requirements.\nTrack technical reviews and engineering comment resolution across all engineering disciplines to ensure consistency and quality of project deliverables.\nInterdepartmental Coordination\nCoordinate GIS, survey, and geotechnical data inputs through detail design.\nSupport environmental and permitting activities.\nCollaborate with interconnection and compliance management to meet utility and ISO requirements.\nDeliver technical documentation to support tax equity and asset rotation.\nManage all technical coordination and compliance with stakeholders to ensure designs satisfy ISO, utility, permitting and Company requirements.\nConstruction & Commissioning\nFacilitate constructability review meetings prior to design IFC.\nCoordinate RFIs and field engineering issues with Construction Managers.\nSupport commissioning, testing, and performance verification.\nProvide engineering and technical support during construction, startup, commissioning, testing, performance validation, and operational turnover activities.\nSupport resolution of field engineering issues through coordination with EPC contractors, OEMs, engineers of record, and internal stakeholders.\nCloseout & Improvement\nReview, track and support change management request.\nOversee as-built documentation and turnover packages.\nCapture lessons learned to improve future project execution.\nLead technical closeout activities including punch list resolution, final performance verification, warranty documentation, and operational turnover.\nQualifications\nApplied knowledge of electric solar and energy storage projects.\nKnowledge and application of principles in area of solar and energy storage.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nWell organized and attentive to details.\nStrong focus on safety and the ability to adhere to all safety requirements without exception.\nAbility to manage time efficiently across multiple projects.\nSelf-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and accepts a high degree of personal responsibility for results.\nWillingness to travel to job sites as needed.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).\nMinimum 12+ years relevant experience in the development and execution of large-scale Solar, Wind and BESS Projects.\nKnowledgeable of renewable industry standards and best practices.\nPractical knowledge of relevant Electrical Codes and Standards including but not limited to NEC, NESC, NFPA, API, NEMA, IEEE/ANSI etc.\nExperience in Power System modeling software like PVSyst, SKM, ETAP, PSCAD, PSSE, etc.\nAuthorization to work in the U.S. (sponsorship not provided).\nPE License with an NCEES
