The role owns day-to-day operational leadership of the team, uptime, governance, disaster recovery and incident response, and is a key contributor to team strategy under the Director of Cloud & Infrastructure.\nThis is a working manager position. The ideal candidate is an experienced Azure and infrastructure engineer who still enjoys hands-on work, has led a small to medium technical team, and brings structure through clear standards and processes. They prioritize against business needs, communicate well with IT leadership, and rely on and empower the team's technical leads on technical decisions so that services are delivered securely and consistently.\nThis role will require 3 days in office.\nRequirements:\nProvides day-to-day operational leadership of the Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering team, including workload assignment, goal setting and performance management.\nOwns the team's short-term plans and executes the function's strategy; contributes to team strategy and annual goals.\nOwns the priority and sequencing of the team's work by aligning initiatives to business needs; relies on the technical lead for the technical content of the platform roadmap and communicates trade-offs to stakeholders.\nOwns governance for Azure and other cloud tools: policy, compliance, cost and security controls, and operating procedures. Ensures the engineering standards are documented, adopted and enforced through change control.\nCreates and maintains processes, procedures and standards for cloud and infrastructure operations, including change control and backup.\nOwns the disaster recovery program for cloud and infrastructure services: ensures DR plans exist and are current, schedules and runs DR tests, and tracks remediation of gaps.\nOwns uptime SLAs for cloud services; monitors service health, reports on availability and drives remediation when targets are missed.\nLeads relevant critical incident response, including availability for after-hours and weekend escalations; communicates outages, keeps IT leadership informed and ensures post-incident reviews and follow-up actions are completed.\nProvides accountability to IT leadership on delivery, service performance, risk and budget for the team's platforms.\nPerforms hands-on engineering work alongside the team: designing, building and maintaining Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions and automation solutions.\nRelies on and empowers the team's technical leads on technical decisions and supports those decisions with stakeholders.\nAttends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.\nComplies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.\nCoordinates vendor and Microsoft support escalations and manages infrastructure vendor relationships and renewals.\nReviews and approves changes to production infrastructure in line with change control procedures.\nWorks with Security, Architecture and Applications teams to ensure infrastructure is secure, performant and aligned with business requirements.\nTracks and manages Azure consumption and infrastructure spend; identifies cost optimization opportunities.\nSponsors research, technical evaluations and proofs of concept on new Azure services and tools.\nMaintains the team's on-call rotation and runbooks and ensures escalations from the Service Desk are resolved with clear ownership and communication.\nSupports audits and compliance activities related to infrastructure controls.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nSafety:\nPresents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.\nLeads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working.\nAccountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors.\nAdheres to and ensures all site team members understands standard operating procedures.\nLeads and supports the site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing system in place.\nLeadership:\nFosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.\nManages one or more direct reports.\nParticipates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.\nCommunicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.\nDemonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.\nEmployee Development:\nProvides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities.\nConducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.\nConducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field isrequired.\n5+ yearsofexperience in IT infrastructure engineering required. \n2+ years experience Managing an IT engineering team is required.\nExperience collaborating with geographically distributed teams is preferred.\nITIL certification or familiarity with service management best practices is preferred. \nManagement and non-technical\nAbility to lead a small to medium technical team day to day and hold the team accountable for results.\nAbility to prioritize competing initiatives against business impact and explain decisions to IT leadership and stakeholders.\nAbility to communicate with and influence leadership, internal partners and vendors to adopt the team's standards and practices.\nClear written and verbal communication, including status reporting and outage communication during incidents.\nSound judgment under pressure during critical incidents, including after hours.\nAbility to write and enforce standards, processes and procedures.\nCollaborative working style across geographically distributed teams; relies on and empowers technical leads on technical matters.\nTechnical\nMicrosoft Azure IaaS: Virtual Machines, Networking (VNETs, NSGs, VPN/ExpressRoute), Monitor, Backup, Site Recovery, Containers, AVD.\nMicrosoft Azure PaaS: SQL Database, App Services, Key Vault, Storage Accounts and related serverless services.\nAzure governance: Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, Management Groups, Defender for Cloud, cost management.\nInfrastructure as Code and automation: PowerShell, Bicep or Terraform, ARM, Git/GitHub, Automation Accounts.\nObservability and Monitoring platforms: Zabbix\nOther platforms: Rubrik\nITIL-based incident, change and problem management; disaster recovery planning and testing.\nDefining and reporting on uptime and availability SLAs.\nFunctional competencies includeaccountability, communication, continuous improvement, casting the right shadow and prioritization. \nAbility to travel domestically 5to 15%.\nAnticipated base salary range:$113,900- $142,400\nThe final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
