The role carries full end-to-end accountability for monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, VAT returns and statutory accounts under IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS 102.\nClient service is a core requirement. The individual will act as an outsourced finance business partner, building strong relationships with asset managers, auditors, lenders and clients, and providing cover for fellow Management Accountants during absences, peak periods and special projects.\nOrganisational Context\nThe Asset Management department looks after wind farms, solar and storage plants in Northern Europe on behalf of the clients. The services include technical, financial, and commercial asset management. Within this department, the FAM Northern Europe team acts as an outsourced finance business partner, delivering financial support services under Management Service Agreements (MSAs) to clients owning renewable energy assets across onshore wind, solar, storage and hydro. The department currently manages over 200 legal entities across 17 clients and three regions (UK & Ireland, Nordics and Germany).\nThe team's scope includes:\nManagement accounts: monthly reporting with comparison and variance analysis to budget\nCash flow forecasting and distribution calculations\nAnnual budgets and quarterly forecasts\nBank loan compliance\nStatutory accounts and audit management under IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS 102\nVAT returns and tax return oversight\nMonth end, quarter end and year end processing to agreed deadlines\nCompany Secretarial matters\nAny other FAM obligations under the AMA\nKey Accountabilities include but not limited to:\nPreparation of monthly management accounts including all journal postings;\nPreparation, management and delivery of cash flow forecasts by liaising with internal asset managers, Finance Client Leads and clients;\nDebtor / creditor management for entities;\nPreparation of periodic financial reporting and variance to budget analysis for internal and external clients on a timely and accurate basis;\nPreparation and submission of periodic VAT returns for entities;\nAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts;\nAssist in preparation of statutory accounts and annual audit for SPV companies in IFRS, FRS 102 or UK GAAP, including consolidated sets of accounts;\nAssist with on boarding of new projects into the asset management portfolio;\nSupporting continuous improvements to accounting and reporting processes together with the wider Finance and ERP Development teams;\nSupporting regular queries from the operational business;\nExecuting additional tasks to meet changing business needs and departmental objectives;\nBusiness Partnering with respective asset managers for internal reporting and providing information requested in a timely manner;\nPresent financial performance in quarterly Board meetings to the client.\nLiaise with AP/ AR/ Co Sec/ Stats and Tax sub teams on various matters across the portfolio.\nApprove payments in the banking system.\nBe a key point of finance contact (as and when needed) of the external clients and deliver quality service, working alongside other management accountants and assisting the finance leads to maintain a strong relationship on a day to day basis (longer term, when given a portfolio).\nKnowledge & Skills\n\n·Strong accounting knowledge;\n·IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 101 and UK GAAP;\nUnderstanding of both management and statutory accounting.
