{"id":3001555,"url":"https://alion.io/job/resbank-1914-project-manager-payment-ecosystem-modernisation-programme-exe-man","title":"(1914) Project Manager – Payment Ecosystem Modernisation Programme - Exe Man","company":{"id":1781283,"name":"South African Reserve Bank","domain":"resbank.co.za","url":"https://alion.io/company/resbank","size_band":"501-1000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Oracle","truth_index":null},"role":"Management","role_family":"Management","seniority":"senior","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Pretoria, South Africa"],"countries":["ZA"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":24000,"max_usd":47000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":34},"experience_years_min":5,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Agile","optional":false},{"name":"Waterfall","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-21T08:26:36Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-21","last_verified_at":"2026-11-02T06:09:53Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":12,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":12},"description":"Brief description\nThe purpose of this position is to manage projects within the Payment Ecosystem Modernisation Programme (PEM) by leading, planning, organising and controlling resources in accordance with the South African Reserve Bank’s approved project management methodology, to deliver the project scope and objectives according to specification, on time and within budget.\nDetailed description\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:\nDirect and coordinate the activities of project resources to ensure the project progresses according to the approved schedule, produces the expected deliverables, remains within budget and meets specification and quality standards.\n\nDefine the project scope and brief and develop the work breakdown structure in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of deliverables and the approach.\n\nProduce comprehensive project management plans covering scope, quality, risk, time, cost, human resources, procurement, integration and communication, and ensure these knowledge areas are regularly updated and maintained.\n\nEnsure that all project documentation, deliverables and reports are produced, approved and maintained timeously.\n\nIdentify and manage project risks, constraints and changes, ensuring that the project plan is managed and approved.\n\nEstablish and manage relationships with stakeholders, role players and service providers to secure commitment to a common goal.\n\nEstablish and effectively manage a multidisciplinary project team throughout the project life cycle, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities for delivering project outputs.\n\n Job requirements\nTo be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:\na relevant Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and/or Information and Communication Technology, or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 7;\n\na minimum of five to eight years’ experience in project management within the payment environment; and\n\nsound knowledge of project management legislation, project cost management, and contract and service management.\n\nThe following would be an added advantage:\na postgraduate qualification in Project Management;\n\nexperience in managing projects leveraging both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.\n\nAdditional requirements include:\nfacilitation skills;\n\nplanning and organising skills;\n\neffective communication skills;\n\na drive for results;\n\nservice and stakeholder focus; and\n\nthe ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.\n\nIn line with the SARB’s commitment to diversifying its workforce, preference will be given to suitable candidates from designated groups.
