SCOPE OF WORK: The International Rescue Committee (IRC), works in the United States welcomes newly arrived refugees and immigrants, supports them in their resettlement, and provides holistic services to help them build new lives in their communities.The IRC’s Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) department creates opportunities for refugees and other vulnerable migrants to survive and thrive in the US.

TheIRC inNew York&New Jersey(IRC NYNJ)local programoffice supports a diverse group of clients includingrefugees,asylees,asylum seekers, trafficking survivors, and immigrants.TheIRC NYNJprograms are focused oncase management,economic empowerment, health and wellness, immigration services, anti-trafficking support, and more. RESPONSIBILITIES: TheDevelopment Intern will work with the Development Team forIRC NYNJ.The Development Teamis responsible forraising funds to support IRC programs, building community connections, engaging potential donors, and raising the profile ofIRC NYNJ.The Development Intern will help growIRC NYNJ’sprivate fundraisingportfolio supporting withprospecting,proposals,stewardship, communications, and events.Tasks include:

Storytelling, marketing, and campaigns:

• Maintain and updatestory catalogwithclient stories and casestudiesin line with theDevelopment Storytelling Strategy.

• Liaise with program departments to curate stories.

• Fundraising campaigns

Develop Assets used for donor communications including Annualreports, welcomepacket,onepagersand more.

Events: track RSVPs and support planning, briefing,day of andpost-event activities.

Prospecting:Individual, Foundations, andcorporations

Fundraising analytics

Assistwithprivategrants:preparedeliverable sheet andmaintainreport/grant tracker.

Bi-weekly in-person tasks from New York City Office such as mailing

Additionaladministrative tasksandprojects as they arise

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Internwill learn how to drive fundraising and grants portfolio for a non-profit organization.

Internwill gain firsthand experience with fundraising strategies and skills at a leading non-profit organization.

Internwill have the opportunity to learn about IRCin New York & New Jerseyprogram areas in depth.

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers must be based in the U.S. Interns must be enrolled in post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within last 2 years.

The requirements shouldestablisha baseline (minimum) for educational background,previouswork experience, professional knowledge or certification, specific skills and strengths and any other skill necessary to perform the essential functions.

The requirements should include:

• The minimal level of educational background -If applicable, add the accepted alternatives to education.

• Any special certificates or licenses, if needed, e.g., CPA or Chartered Accountant.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
