Preferred applicants are individuals who are friendly, professional, organized and are looking to gain experience with administrative and HR duties. The Human Resources Intern will assist the HR department with a wide range of day-to-day responsibilities and projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, employee benefits and reception area. Applicant must be a current college student.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nProvides excellent customer service to all who call or come to the reception desk, acting as an interface between the organization and the public.\nProvides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Team.\nMaintains a professional and courteous demeanor while acquiring and delivering appropriate information.\nAssist with all aspects of recruitment: job posting, candidate review, phone screens, pre-employment process - drug screening, background checks etc.\nEnhances Operations effectiveness by assisting other team members with projects as approved by co-leaders and participating in team and organizational events.\nAssist with creating badges for new hires and current employees.\nAssist with new hire orientation.\nAttending job fairs as schedule allows.\nAssist with file maintenance.\nHR team will present additional learning opportunities as they arise throughout the internship.\nPromotes a safety-first attitude by setting a positive example and ensuring all employees are following safety policies and procedures.\nWorks within the parameters of the Rescue Mission’s policies, procedures and mission statement.\nRequirements: \nHigh School diploma or GED required.\nCurrent college student pursing Business Degree, Human Resources or related field\nStudent member of SHRM a plus.\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Needed to Perform Effectively in this Position\nAbility to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of responsibilities.\nTeam Player\nProficient computer skills (Microsoft office & Outlook)\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\nPassion for the mission and vision of the organization\nThe Rescue Mission Alliance strives to share hope, end hunger and homelessness, change lives and strengthen communities one person at a time.
