define the technical foundation of Resideo’s connected platform and help make the contextual home and business a practical reality.\nJOB DUTIES:\nDesign, document, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve high quality, commercially successful software products\n\nAssist in facilitating good communication and actively contribute to building a high-performance team\n\nTechnical leadership: define architecture, make design decisions, and guide engineering standards.\n\nTake a platform approach, writing quality source code to enable a wide range of products to be built across a single code base\n\nVideo expertise: work with live streaming, recording, event detection, device connectivity, and video data at scale.\n\nPlatform integration: design reliable event-driven interactions between cameras and other IOT devices.\n\nSecurity and privacy: protect customer data, device access, video feeds, and cloud services.\n\nReliability: build highly available, observable systems with strong performance and recovery characteristics.\n\nCross-functional leadership: partner with product, UX, firmware, cloud, and security teams to turn concepts into customer experiences.\n\nMentorship: raise the capability of other developers through coaching, reviews, and technical direction.\n\nCustomer impact: connect the technical work to Resideo's purpose of helping people protect what matters most.\n\nApply strong Agile/Scrum practices by contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives, while helping the team continuously improve how it delivers firmware.\n\nTravel to US and Asia as needed\n\nYOU MUST HAVE:\n5+ years of software development experience\n\n3+ years of object-oriented programming experience using C/C++\n\n3+ years of Linux experience (ideally with embedded Linux - we use Yocto)\n\nEmbedded product development experience\n\nWE VALUE:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills and a team relationship-building focus.\n\nCutting-edge experience with developer-driven AI workflows and an interest in applying AI to improve engineering productivity and product capabilities.\n\nThe ability to break down high-level requirements into clear, actionable technical solutions.\n\nA test-driven development mindset and commitment to building reliable, maintainable software.\n\nEmbedded Linux firmware development experience, particularly for connected devices and security video products.\n\nKnowledge of image processing, computer vision, and video-based features.\n\nAn understanding of how security cameras can work with other products, including security panels, thermostats, water-leak detectors, and related connected devices.\n\nCollaboration, open communication, and a willingness to share knowledge and support other developers on the team.\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills, a natural interest in technology, and strong attention to detail.\n\nExperience with Git and GitHub Actions.\n\nExperience using Jira and Confluence to plan, document, and deliver work.\n\nA customer-focused mindset and a desire to help people protect what matters most through secure, intelligent,
