Apply engineering principles to the analysis and solution of technical issues related to the design and manufacture of high volume, electronic and electromechanical products.\nThis engineer applies state of the artknowledge of microprocessors and embedded SW design to assurehigh-quality, low-cost solutions.\nJOB DUTIES:\nDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain embedded software/firmware for electronic and electromechanical control products.\nProvide ongoing production support, troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions to improve product performance, quality, and reliability.\nDrive product improvements, cost-reduction, and value engineering initiatives through firmware optimization and product customization.\nApply strong knowledge of microprocessors, embedded systems, and software design principles to deliver high-quality and cost-effective solutions.\nCollaborate closely with hardware engineers and other software developers to define, design, integrate, and validate embedded product solutions.\nPartner with Marketing, Operations, and Sourcing teams to define product/system requirements, incorporate customer needs, and support supplier selection and development.\nYOU MUST HAVE:\n5+ years of experience in embedded software development utilizing C/C++ languages and software product development for high-volume production.\nBilingual English/Spanish with excellent written and verbal communications skills\nStrong experience developing embedded software in RTOS, multitasking environments, and Embedded Linux, including software/system design, module development, and software architecture.\nSolid hardware and low-level software knowledge, including BSP, HAL, bootloaders, custom hardware, and components/technologies such as Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, and USB stacks.\nHands-on experience implementing and maintaining communication protocols such as RS-232, SPI, and I2C, and using diagnostic tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, debuggers, and protocol analyzers.\nGood understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall, with experience using relevant development, version control, testing, and quality tools such as Bitbucket, Jira, Visual Studio, IAR Embedded Workbench, Bamboo, and SonarQube.\nStrong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage diverse workloads, maintain thorough release documentation, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a global, multicultural, and multilingual organization.\nStrong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach less experienced engineers and explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences;
