Engineer in Test (SDET) who approaches quality as an engineering discipline.\nThis role goes beyond writing automated tests; you will design and build systems that enable scalable, reliable testing, including tools, frameworks, and supporting services that improve how teams validate software.\nYou will work across multiple layers of the engineering ecosystem, helping teams validate APIs, services, data flows, and user journeys, while building the supporting tooling that makes testing faster, more reliable, and more insightful.\nThis role is well suited to engineers who enjoy building internal platforms, automation utilities, test harnesses, data tooling, and diagnostic systems, and who are building/leveraging approaches such as AI-assisted testing and intelligent quality tooling.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering for Quality\nDesign and build engineering solutions that support quality at scale, including:\nTest harnesses for validating services and distributed systems\nStubs and mocks for isolating dependencies\nSimulation frameworks for testing complex workflows\nInternal tooling that enables developers to validate their systems earlier\nDevelop reusable components that allow teams to test services and integrations without relying on full environments.\nTest Infrastructure & Tooling\nBuild and maintain the technical infrastructure that enables effective testing, including:\nAutomation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing\nTest data generation and environment validation tools\nDiagnostics and debugging utilities\nExecution results\nContribute to the development of internal AI-enabled tooling that improves testing efficiency and insight\nObservability & Quality Insights\nDesign and build reporting and analytics reliability analysis tooling\nLeverage data to provide actionable insights into product stability, coverage, and risk.\nSystem-Level Validation\nWork across the full system stack to validate behaviour by analysing logs, metrics, traces, and system behaviour, identifying root causes rather than simply reporting defects.\n\nCI/CD & Engineering Integration\nEmbed automated validation into development as:\nJava\nPython\nJavaScript / TypeScript\nC#\nExperience designing maintainable, production-quality code used for automation, tooling, or internal engineering platforms.\nTest Engineering\nExperience building automated validation across:\nAPIs and service layers\nintegration workflows\nuser interfaces (where appropriate)\nExperience with modern automation frameworks such as:\nPlaywright\nSelenium / WebDriverIO\nCypress\nPytest / JUnit / NUnit\n\nEngineering Tooling & Test Infrastructure\nExperience building or maintaining engineering tools such as:\ntest
