We are committed to excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering trusted, customer-focused services that meet the highest professional and accreditation standards\n\nJob Title: Lead Software Engineer \nReports to: Head of Internal Comms and Engagement\nLocation: Bengaluru, India (Hybrid)\nDirect Reports: No\nDepartment: People & Talent\n\nThe Role\nAs a Lead Engineer, you will work with broadcast and streaming technologies used by major broadcasters, TV manufacturers, and standards bodies worldwide. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, guiding teams, and influencing international standards.\n\nYou Will\n· Lead the design, architecture, and evolution of automated test platforms for HbbTV, CI+, ATSC and DVB-based broadcast and hybrid/streaming ecosystems.\n· Translate complex specifications into clear, testable objectives and implement them in robust, scalable frameworks.\n· Own end-to-end system architecture, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and long-term resilience.\n· Design, build, and verify sophisticated software and hardware components.\n· Represent the company in international standards bodies and technical working groups.\n· Act as a player-coach: mentor engineers, set coding and architectural standards, support hiring, and unblock complex technical challenges.\n· Shape engineering culture and champion technical excellence across the team.\n· Work with globally distributed teams across the UK, India, China, and Belgium.\n\nYou Need to Have\n· Experience analysing broadcast standards relating to (HbbTV, CI+, ATSC3, DVB, MPEG).\n· Strong software engineering background using Python, Django, and Linux.\n· Experience building large-scale frameworks and automated test orchestration systems.\n· Strong understanding of the broadcast industry, particularly HbbTV and CI+.\n· Experience with streaming technologies (e.g. DASH) and DRM systems (PlayReady, Widevine).\n· Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure).\n· Working knowledge of JIRA, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Jenkins.\n\nUse of AI & Modern Engineering Practices\n· Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to accelerate development, testing, debugging, and documentation tasks.\n· Apply strong engineering judgement to validate AI outputs, ensuring quality, correctness, and alignment with specifications and architectural standards.\n· Lead by example in identifying opportunities where AI can improve team productivity, consistency, and quality without compromising technical
