As a Senior Supplier Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in supplier selection, supplier industrialization, process validation, and manufacturing readiness throughout the product development lifecycle. You will work closely with suppliers and global cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, influence technical decisions, develop supplier capabilities, drive supplier readiness, and establish scalable manufacturing processes that support successful product launches and long-term supply continuity.\nIn addition, you will lead complex supplier development initiatives, mentor team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Supplier Engineering capabilities, processes, and tools. Success in this role requires balancing technical excellence, supplier capability, quality, delivery, and commercialization objectives to achieve strong business outcomes and support Resmed's long-term strategy.\nLet’s talk about Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership, Supplier Industrialization & NPI\nProvide technical leadership in supplier selection, supplier development, supplier industrialization, manufacturing process development, tooling qualification, and process validation throughout the product development lifecycle.\nLead and manage supplier industrialization, manufacturing qualification, process validation, and production readiness activities to ensure successful commercialization and scalable, robust, and cost-effective manufacturing.\nLead technical reviews of supplier manufacturing solutions, including tooling, automation equipment, assembly fixtures, and production systems.\nChallenge and influence engineering decisions related to tooling design, manufacturing processes, automation strategies, inspection methods, process controls, and production scalability.\nDrive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and technical assessments to improve manufacturability, quality, delivery, cost, and long-term supply continuity.\nIdentify, assess, and mitigate manufacturing, tooling, quality, capacity, and supply chain risks throughout product development, industrialization, and commercialization.\nSupplier Development\nAssess supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing maturity, operational readiness, and production capacity to support supplier selection, qualification, and development decisions.\nDrive supplier capability development through technical coaching, process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), quality engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nCollaboration & Stakeholder Management\nPartner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to align on manufacturing readiness, supplier strategies, risk mitigation plans, and successful execution of NPI programs.\nLead resolution of complex technical, manufacturing, supplier, and quality issues while balancing quality, delivery, commercialization, and business objectives.\nLeadership & Teamwork\nMentor and develop Supplier Engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of supplier engineering capabilities, processes, tools and best practices.\nLet’s talk about Qualifications and Experience\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n8+ years of engineering experience in supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or new product introduction (NPI).\nProven experience in new product launch, technology development, and supplier relationship management.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, automation, inspection methods, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, apply metrology techniques and use data-driven problem-solving methods.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions in complex environments.\nStrong project management, stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within cross-functional and global teams.\nProven ability to influence, mentor, and build capability in others through technical leadership.\nProven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced product development environment.\nPreferred:\nExperience supporting medical device, regulated, or high-volume manufacturing environments.\nExperience with injection moulding, automation, assembly processes, or tooling development.\nKnowledge of statistical analysis, process capability, validation methodologies, and quality management systems.\nExperience leading supplier capability improvement and performance development initiatives.\nJoining us is more than saying “yes” to making the world a healthier place.
