This is an opportunity to add engineering capacity to a growing platform while helping modernize existing services and build capabilities designed for long-term scale.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild and maintain production web services that power Resmed’s communications platform. \nDevelop new platform capabilities as the team expands beyond email and SMS into additional communication channels and experiences. \nContribute hands-on to coding, system design and architectural decisions.\nHelp modernize existing services, reduce technical debt and bring solutions towards current engineering standards. \nOwn your work across the development lifecycle, including testing, deployment and production support. \nPartner with engineers, architects, product managers and stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable software.\nImprove code quality, testing and automation while contributing to a culture of shared learning and continuous improvement.\nWhat You Bring\n4+ years of professional software development experience.\nExpert-level Java experience, with a strong foundation in object-oriented design and clean code principles.\nExtensive experience with AWS services and serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB and S3.\nHands-on experience with NoSQL and relational databases such as DynamoDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL.\nStrong understanding of RESTful API design, authentication and authorization frameworks such as OAuth2 and JWT, and microservices architectures.\nExperience supporting software through testing, deployment and production, with an end-to-end approach to delivery.\nA track record of mentoring and supporting fellow engineers through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.\nExperience with Docker/Kubernetes, containerized environments, message-brokering systems such as SQS or SNS, or event-driven architectures. \nNice to Have\nExposure to DevOps and software testing practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring and automated testing.\nExperience with modern web development using JavaScript or TypeScript with React.js and/or Next.js. \nWhat Sets You Apart\nLearning mindset: You’re curious, adaptable and comfortable learning as technology continues to evolve. \nEnd-to-end ownership: You stay connected to your work beyond writing code and care about how it performs once it reaches production. \nCollaborative approach: You work openly with others, share what you know and help teammates grow.\nPractical judgement: You weigh immediate business needs alongside the longer-term health of the platform.\nContinuous improvement: You look for thoughtful ways to improve existing systems, practices and ways of working.\nWhy Join Resmed\nYou’ll work on a communications platform that other Resmed teams use to reach patients and healthcare providers, with a substantial roadmap ahead as the platform grows beyond its current email and SMS capabilities.\nThe Halifax team is building for the long term.
