If you’re passionate about innovation and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.\nResponsibilities\nIndependently design, develop, integrate, and support automated machinery and manufacturing systems throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through customer support. \nDevelop and maintain controls software for automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, motion control, machine vision, robotics, laser processing, automated inspection, data acquisition, and industrial networking. \nArchitect control system solutions, including software architecture, electrical hardware selection, machine safety systems, industrial networking, and machine control strategies, with consideration for cost, availability, reliability, and long-term supportability. \nLead system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, optimization, and customer-site startup activities. \nCreate and maintain controls documentation, including electrical schematics, I/O lists, software documentation, and user manuals. \nOwn controls engineering deliverables for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to define requirements, develop technical solutions, and support machine acceptance testing, qualification, and production launch activities. \nDevelop and deliver technical presentations, concept reviews, system demonstrations, and project updates for customers, management, and cross-functional teams. \nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to Controls Engineer I and II team members. \nDrive controls standardization and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, reduce lead times, and increase engineering efficiency. \nMaintain software, drawings, and engineering documentation within approved quality management systems. \nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline. \n5+ years of experience in industrial automation, machine controls, or custom automated equipment development. \nDemonstrated experience designing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment. \nStrong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, industrial networking, machine safety systems, and controls engineering best practices. · Experience reviewing and developing electrical schematics, I/O documentation, and controls-related technical documentation. \nProficiency with industry-standard engineering tools, test equipment, and software development/version-control practices. \nAbility to independently prioritize and manage controls engineering activities across multiple projects with minimal supervision. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with industrial automation and control platforms such as Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar systems.\nExperience integrating machine vision, robotics, motion control, and advanced manufacturing technologies into automated equipment.\nKnowledge of machine safety, electrical standards, and risk assessment methodologies.\nExperience working in regulated manufacturing environments, including medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or similar industries.\nExperience participating in design reviews, customer interactions, and technical project leadership activities.\nExperience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and industrial process control systems.\nPhysical Demands\nMay be required to access tight spaces within machine enclosures during system integration and troubleshooting activities.\nAbility to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to work around manufacturing equipment and automation systems.\nTravel Requirements\nAbility to travel domestically and internationally to support equipment installation, commissioning, and customer service activities.\nValid passport required.\nApproximately 10% to 25% travel, depending on project requirements.\nCompensation\nThe compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $70,000- $102,000.\nOur company policy is that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
