The automation team is an internal service provider supporting Continuous Improvement Initiatives, new product development, and Quality Improvement Programs. Automation efforts range from automated part handling of components to complex assemblies, fluid dispensing, cleaning, inspection, etc. The Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer responsibilities include designing, building, testing and documenting automation equipment.\nThe Senior Automation Engineer is recognized as an SME in automation solutions and tasked with solving the most complex and technically challenging issues/projects. If you’re passionate about innovation and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.\nResponsibilities\nExperience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with minimal direction.\nPerforms mechanical design using SolidWorks, software/controls engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems.\nDevelop databases to support data analytics for root cause analysis.\nWorks with sites to design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.\nDevelops automation systems with the goal of decreasing cost by eliminating labor, increasing throughput, and improving product quality by minimizing human error.\nDelivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.\nDesign and develop manufacturing procedures, tooling, and fixtures that result in sufficient capacity to meet customer demand while also promoting product quality, process efficiency, and operator safety.\nEvaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles.\nGenerate and modify manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures per Resonetics established Quality Management System.\nAssist with equipment validations, as well as associated risk management activities (PFMEA/Risk Assessment).\nSelects process improvement techniques to solve technical problems and makes sound equipment and process recommendations.\nDesigns and prepares engineering reports and communicates results to the technical and leadership audiences.\nMust be able to manage multiple parallel projects with varying scopes and deadlines from concept to production release.\nCreate process documentation and training where applicable (Factory Automation Design Process, Automation, Setup, Preventive Maintenance etc.).\nStrong cultural agent, actively develop and influence technology capability and roadmap.\nExcellent customer service focus. Works with a sense of urgency.\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nMay act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals.\nRequired Qualifications\n8+ years experience in automation of manufacturing processes.\nDesign of automation cells.\nProficient in SolidWorks (or equivalent) for tooling/fixture design. Well versed in GD&T and print generation.\nWorking knowledge of design configuration management tools and flows.\nStrong communication skills, comfortable with leading and providing project status updates at both the team and senior leaderships levels.\nExperience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.\n(BS or MS) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or other relevant STEM discipline. \nAbility to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.\nStrong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.\nTireless work ethic and understanding of deadline management.\nAbility to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to process operational or technical data and translate the output into a business result or opportunity.\nStrong statistical analysis skills (process capability, equivalence studies, regression, ANOVA, DOE).\nTrained in formal problem-solving techniques (Cause & effect analysis, 5 Why’s, etc.).\nEffective interpersonal skills and adeptness in working with culturally diverse employee population.\nAbility to navigate ambiguity and negotiate alignment with stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or other technical.\nCertification in Six Sigma Methodology, experienced practitioner of DMAIC principles.\nProject Management and Leadership skills.\nExperience with industrial lasers, interventional device design and manufacturing, device assembly.\nExperience working in a medical device or regulated environment.\nPhysical Demands\nWillingness and flexibility to travel as required.\nTravel: Primarily domestic and Costa Rica sites.\nMust be able obtain a passport and travel internationally as well as domestically.\nMust be able to bend and lift 50lbs.\nExpect to work with power tools and hand tools\nCompensation\nThe compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $88,000.00 - $124,000.00.\nOur company policy is that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
