Based in Sacramento, this executive leader will oversee a diverse portfolio of ecological restoration, mitigation, conservation, and related environmental projects across the region.\nYou will lead execution of the regional operating plan and align people, resources, and priorities so projects are delivered safely, profitably, on schedule, and in accordance with contractual, regulatory, quality, and ecological performance requirements. You will shape regional priorities, strengthen the leadership bench, improve portfolio performance, and serve as an executive sponsor for projects and client relationships that matter to communities and ecosystems throughout the West.\n\nWhat Your Day to Day Might Look Like\nYou will lead delivery of the region's project portfolio across the full lifecycle. You will maintain clear visibility into backlog conversion, schedules, cost, cash, capacity, and material delivery risks, and you will ensure leaders take timely corrective action when performance falls short of plan.\nYou will serve as a visible safety leader by engaging employees, focusing on prevention, and holding leaders accountable for safe execution in office and project environments.\nYou will own delivery of the region's financial plan, including revenue, gross profit, cash, EBITDA, project margins, and forecast accuracy. You will set regional priorities and make investment and resource decisions that reflect company strategy, market conditions, delivery capacity, and risk.\nYou will build and retain a capable regional leadership team and workforce. This includes strengthening manager effectiveness, addressing performance and employee concerns consistently, maintaining succession and development plans for critical roles, and using employee feedback and workforce trends to guide action.\nYou will serve as an executive operating sponsor for significant projects and client relationships. In partnership with sales and business development leaders, you will contribute to solution development, assess operational feasibility, evaluate opportunities, and support a disciplined handoff from award to execution.\nYou will ensure projects are managed in accordance with scope, contracts, schedules, permits, quality standards, regulatory commitments, and long-term ecological obligations. You will identify material risks, establish clear accountability, and ensure compliance concerns are escalated and corrected promptly.\nYou will maintain productive relationships with regulatory agencies, tribal nations, landowners, consultants, subcontractors, community stakeholders, and other partners. You will also work across functions and regions to deploy resources, share capabilities, and apply lessons learned across RES.\n\nWe Would Like to Talk to You If You Have Many of the Following\nA bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in applied sciences, engineering, construction management, environmental science, business, or a related field.\nTen or more years of progressive experience in complex, project-based delivery.\nFive or more years of P&L responsibility and team leadership, including experience leading through managers or front-line leaders.\nPortfolio-scale oversight of complex, multi-year projects involving significant schedule, cost, contractual, subcontractor, and execution risk.\nDemonstrated success building leadership capability, strengthening accountability, improving team effectiveness, and retaining talent.\nStrong financial and operating judgment, including the ability to manage revenue, gross profit, cash, EBITDA, project margins, capacity, and forecasts.\nThe ability to build trust with clients, employees, regulators, tribal nations, landowners, consultants, subcontractors, and community stakeholders.\nWillingness to work from the Sacramento office and travel regularly throughout the West Region, with occasional travel to other RES locations.\n\nWhat Will Make You Stand Out\nAn advanced degree or relevant industry credential such as PMP, PE, PG, Professional Wetland Scientist, or Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner.\nExperience leading a multi-state, multi-office, multi-project-site, or similarly dispersed operation.\nExperience in mitigation or conservation banking, large-scale ecological restoration, design-build delivery, environmental construction, or long-term stewardship obligations.\nWorking knowledge of environmental restoration and mitigation and the California and federal regulatory frameworks that affect project feasibility and delivery across the West.\n\nYou Will Thrive in This Role If You\nLead visibly on safety, focus on prevention, and hold yourself and others accountable.\nDeliver on commitments, communicate transparently, and resolve issues in ways that protect client confidence and RES's reputation.\nBuild effective teams, invite diverse perspectives, and collaborate across functions and regions.\nAddress difficult issues directly, maintain high ethical standards, and make sound decisions when the path is not easy.\nStay composed through uncertainty, learn quickly, and adjust course when evidence or conditions change.\nTurn priorities into measurable operating, financial, and ecological results.\n\nWorking Conditions\nThis position is based in RES's Sacramento office and is not designated as remote. Work takes place in office, client, agency, and project-site environments. Site visits may involve uneven terrain, active construction areas, changing weather, and other outdoor conditions. Regular travel throughout the West Region and occasional travel to other RES locations are required.
