This role combines infrastructure as code, Kubernetes deployment, and automated security testing within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.\nThe engineer will work closely with software developers to establish consistent environments and move services into reliable, scalable deployments. Candidates should understand how cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, networking, and security controls work together. We are looking for hands-on experience designing and operating these environments, with an emphasis on automation, troubleshooting, and improving software delivery.\nThis position is contingent on contract award and position availability. It is a full-time, on-site role at a Government facility in Charleston, SC.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nBuild, automate, and maintain AWS infrastructure supporting development, integration, testing, and operational deployments.\nDevelop infrastructure as code and Ansible automation to create repeatable deployments, maintain consistent configurations, and reduce configuration drift.\nDeploy and operate containerized applications using Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift, addressing scalability, availability, networking, resource management, and persistent storage.\nBuild and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines that automate software builds, testing, security checks, and deployments.\nConfigure and maintain the DevOps toolchain, including container registries, artifact repositories, and environment configurations.\nIntegrate automated security testing into delivery workflows and work with developers to remediate vulnerabilities and pipeline performance bottlenecks.\nSupport AWS GovCloud deployments and environments subject to Department of Defense Impact Level 5 (IL5) requirements.\nImplement monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting to support troubleshooting, capacity planning, and service reliability.\nConfigure platform access controls and integrate secrets management and certificate handling into deployment workflows.\nTroubleshoot issues involving Linux systems, cloud networking, permissions, storage, and container orchestration.\nAutomate patching, deployment validation, rollback, and recovery procedures.\nDocument pipeline configurations and operational procedures, contribute to implementation plans and security testing reports, and help developers use the delivery environment effectively.\nEvaluate tools and deployment approaches through proof-of-concept testing and improve deployment speed, vulnerability remediation, automated testing, and service availability.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.\nTypically 10 years of professional software engineering experience.\nActive TS/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph.\nPrior Intelligence Community support experience.\nProfessional or academic experience with programming and Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps.\nHands-on AWS infrastructure experience across compute, networking, storage, and IAM.\nExperience managing Kubernetes workloads, networking, storage, scaling, and troubleshooting.\nExperience with Ansible, infrastructure as code, Git, and version-controlled configurations.\nExperience building CI/CD pipelines with automated security testing.\nStrong Linux administration and Python, Bash, or similar scripting skills.\nAbility to troubleshoot cloud, container, and application deployments.\nAgile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification.\nDesired Skills\nMaster’s degree in a related quantitative field.\nMeet DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level II or III requirements (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CAP/ISC2 CGRC).\nOpenShift deployment, cluster configuration, access controls, networking, and workload security.\nAWS GovCloud and Impact Level 5 deployment experience.\nTerraform, CloudFormation, and reusable Ansible roles/playbooks.\nCI/CD integration of SAST, DAST, dependency checks, and container scanning.\nDatabase or search platform deployment, storage, backup/recovery, and availability.\nEnterprise identity integration, secrets management, and certificate automation.\nHealth checks, monitoring, rollback, and tested recovery procedures.\nAWS, Kubernetes, Red Hat, or infrastructure automation certifications.\nBenefits\nAt RMC, we're committed to your career growth!
