This role will work closely with Government stakeholders and technical teams to turn complex engineering information into clear, accurate materials for developers, administrators, operators, and program leadership.\nWe are looking for someone who can understand technical concepts, ask focused questions, and organize information around the needs of the reader. Strong candidates will be comfortable working from engineering discussions, demonstrations, design documents, and existing technical materials to produce documentation that remains useful as systems evolve.\nThis position is contingent on contract award and position availability. It is a full-time, on-site role at a Government facility in Charleston, SC.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nCreate, edit, and review technical materials supporting system development, integration, deployment, operation, and maintenance.\nWork with engineers and subject matter experts to document system capabilities, configurations, interfaces, dependencies, and operational procedures.\nDevelop and maintain administration guides, operational user guides, installation instructions, troubleshooting procedures, and training materials.\nSupport preparation of software development plans, implementation plans, architecture descriptions, and technical reports.\nDocument continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows, deployment configurations, and DevSecOps processes.\nEdit and organize cybersecurity documentation, security testing reports, and authorization package materials in coordination with security personnel.\nDevelop diagrams, tables, process descriptions, and other supporting content that explain technical relationships and procedures.\nReview documentation for technical consistency, completeness, readability, and alignment with approved system configurations.\nCoordinate technical reviews, consolidate comments, resolve discrepancies with content owners, and track documents through approval.\nMaintain document templates, terminology, acronym definitions, revision histories, and version-controlled documentation.\nSupport preparation and review of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables.\nApply appropriate classification markings and handling requirements in coordination with authorized Government and security personnel.\nUpdate documentation as software releases, infrastructure changes, and operational lessons alter system behavior or procedures.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree.\n10+ years of experience writing, editing, and reviewing technical materials.\nActive TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.\nExperience documenting software, IT, cybersecurity, or systems engineering efforts.\nAbility to gather technical information through interviews, discussions, demonstrations, and source reviews.\nAbility to explain complex concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.\nExperience creating procedures, technical reports, user guides, and system administration documentation.\nExperience coordinating document reviews and incorporating feedback from multiple contributors.\nStrong editing and proofreading skills, ensuring accurate terminology, acronyms, references, formatting, and consistency.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word styles, templates, tables of contents, cross-references, and tracked changes.\nExperience managing document versions and organized technical repositories.\nAbility to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.\nUnderstanding of classified documentation handling requirements.\nDesired Skills\nMaster’s degree.\nExperience supporting DoD, Navy, or Intelligence Community documentation.\nFamiliarity with RMF, system authorization documentation, security controls, and assessment reports.\nExperience documenting software workflows, CI/CD pipelines, application interfaces, releases, and automated testing.\nFamiliarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and infrastructure as code.\nFamiliarity with ICAM, PKI, and enterprise access controls.\nExperience creating system, data flow, and process diagrams using Visio or similar tools.\nExperience with Git, Markdown, SharePoint, or other collaborative documentation platforms.\nExperience developing training guides, job aids, and system adoption and handover materials.\nExperience preparing Government deliverables to meet data item descriptions, templates, and acceptance criteria.\nBenefits\nAt RMC, we're committed to your career growth!
