Our experienced staff will provide hands-on support and professional development to help the EIT develop water resources engineering skills and knowledge. This position will support the planning, design, and implementation of various water resources engineering projects across Alaska and the Lower 48. These projects may include work in the fields of stormwater, floodplain management, fish passage design, and regulatory compliance. Interdisciplinary work with environmental, geotechnical, survey, structural, and transportation staff is also anticipated.\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupport multiple water resource projects simultaneously, proactively collaborating with team members and clients to resolve technical challenges\nConduct hydrology and hydraulic (H&H) analyses and modeling to support watershed planning and the design of hydraulic structures, such as culverts (including aquatic organism passage), bridges, diversions, revetments, stormwater management facilities, and storm drain systems\nPrepare H&S reports and high-quality technical presentations to communicate complex technical concepts and practical engineering recommendations for a variety of audiences\nAttend site visits alongside experienced staff to collect data and confirm field conditions\nDevelop or support the development of construction plans, specifications, and estimates\nSupport the preparation of permit applications\nOther duties as needed\n Required:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, or a closely related field\nSuccessful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam\nKnowledge/experience/coursework related to hydrology and hydraulics\nMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel\nPreference given to local candidates\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience developing construction plans, specifications, and estimates\nExperience in environmental compliance and permitting\nExperience in drainage analysis, planning, and design\nExperience with ArcGIS Pro and Civil 3D\nPractical application of various H&H modeling software (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraulic Toolbox, HY-8, SWMM, etc.)\n\n Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
