This role is responsible for a combination of strategic business development and senior engineering. Utilizing a strategic mindset, the Senior Engineer steps confidently into client-facing conversations while successfully balancing a variety of projects. RESPEC is 100% employee-owned and this individual will join a collaborative group of fellow owners in tackling complex project challenges.\nThis role will focus on:\nDevelop, build, and manage relationships with strategic partners and customers, both public and private, to build a pipeline of projects\nMaintain current client relationships and facilitate continued joint project opportunities\nIdentify pursuits and position market sector to secure new business in existing and new markets\nWork with other internal market sectors to develop joint pursuits and encourage cross selling to existing clients\nLead business development opportunities, oversee client management, and negotiate project scope and fees\nLead design and project management efforts to ensure successful project completion\nPrepare project communications and participate in design progress meetings\nInterpret building codes and standards, prepare structural plans and details, and perform related construction observations for structural projects\nAnalyze structures using computer analysis programs\nPrepare structural design calculations and related project documentation\nComplete structural detailing and editing for the preparation of construction drawings\nInterpret drawings from architects and other engineering disciplines\nReview structural shop drawings and other structural submittals\nVisit project sites for construction administration\n Our ideal candidate enjoys working with a team and diving into new challenges, and will have the following qualifications:\nM.S., Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, with focus on Structural Design\nProfessional Civil Engineer License\n15+ years of progressive structural engineering practice\nExperience leading strategic business development initiatives in a structural engineering firm\nExperience leading and managing a team of engineers\nKnowledge of engineering principles, practices, and techniques applicable to project planning, modeling, design, and construction\nExperience presenting engineering-related items to clients, boards, public officials, and other outside stakeholders\nRISA 3D, SAP, STAAD, RAM or other 3D structural analytical software experience\nAdditional Preferred Experience/Skills:\nProfessional Structural Engineering License\nPrior engineering consulting firm experience\nExperience with Quality Control reviews of structural drawings and specifications.\nProject management experience and prior construction experience\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Teams, REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam\nEstablished NCEES Record\n Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The typical salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.
