If you're looking for a place where your contributions have real impact, you’ll fit right in.\n RESPEC seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer Project Manager to support our energy, wastewater, mining, and industrial projects.\nThe Senior Mechanical Engineer Project Manager leads the planning, design, and execution of complex mechanical engineering projects from proposal through final design, construction, and closeout. This role applies advanced engineering judgment to develop innovative, practical solutions while ensuring technical excellence, quality control, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. The position is responsible for defining project scope, budgets, schedules, and staffing plans; coordinating multidisciplinary teams; and providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineering staff. In addition to overseeing design and construction activities, this role serves as a key client interface, supports business development and proposal efforts, and contributes to RESPEC's growth through technical expertise, collaboration, and strategic problem-solving. Primary responsibilities include:\nIndependently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on complex projects\nPlan, schedule, conduct and/or coordinate detailed phases of project work\nComplete projects from proposal to final design, including delegating work tasks to engineering and drafting staff\nMake design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications\nProvide final technical review and quality control of team work product\nDevelop project scope, budget, timeline and staff utilization in proposal preparation, particularly with respect to technical efforts\nPerform calculations using engineering formulas and skills\nIndependently complete design work using computer-aided or manual drafting techniques or be able to delegate such work to staff engineers and designers\nPrepare reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects\nServe as a technical advisor and mentor to junior level project team members\nDevise new approaches to problems encountered\nParticipate in marketing, sales, and business development efforts\nPerform sites assessments and construction oversight\nWe do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters\n Required:\nBachelor of science in mechanical engineering\n10+ years of related experience in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on energy or industrial projects, including piping and equipment design\nWest Virginia or Pennsylvania PE required, license in other states a plus\nExperience:in the Natural Gas or Refinery Industries or similar\nleading project mechanical design\ncollaborating on multi-discipline projects\n\nExcellent technical writing and communication skills\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\nSelf-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team\nDetail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines\nSolution focused\nStrong verbal & written communication skills\nDesire to learn and advance technical skills and understanding\nMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel\nPreferred:\nExperience with 3-D and 2-D mechanical drafting\n Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
