This role is responsible for developing technical solutions for clinical applications using MUMPS/FileMan within the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare information technology (HIT) and the ability to work effectively on a distributed team to solve complex software problems.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelops and recommends technical solutions to support client’s requirements in solving moderately complex software problems.\nFocus areas include analytical and engineering-based problem solving and solutions based on IHS standards and conventions (SAC).\nResponsibilities include secure system engineering and development, utilizing technical and analytical skills.\nDesigns test scenarios for the functional and regression testing of complex software solutions.\nInvestigates and resolves software support tickets submitted by end users.\n Required Education and Experience:\nA Bachelor’s degree computer science/systems, information systems/technology engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance degree from an accredited college or university.\nThis position requires eight years’ experience, of which at least six years must be specialized experience including the design and development of HIT systems. General experience includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\n15+ years of software development experience\nSignificant intensive and progressive experience with FileMan/M (MUMPS) programming\nWork with a multidisciplinary team of developers to design, program, and support clinical applications which are part of the IHS Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS)\nEngage in system design, software development, implementation, training and end user support for one or more clinical applications within the IHS RPMS system\nSoftware design, development, testing and deployment experience focusing on design and development.\nAnalysis and debugging experience of FileMan/M source code in support of the deployed software\nProvide user support, as needed, to resolve issues reported by users for deployed applications\nAdvanced knowledge of the VA and IHS environments, RPMS or legacy VISTA.\nDemonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines.\nUnderstanding of Agile processes and the related QA lifecycle.\nProven ability to work
