If you're looking for a place where your contributions have real impact, you’ll fit right in.\n RESPEC has an opening for a temporary part-time Water Resources intern in the Water Division in our Anchorage, AK office. This position will be part of our 2027 Summer Internship Program. This position does not offer remote work.\nThe intern will be expected to work alongside our firm's full-time employees to learn how professional services are provided to our clients. This position will support the planning, design, and implementation of various water resources engineering projects. These projects may include work in the fields of stormwater, floodplain management, fish passage design, and regulatory compliance. Interdisciplinary work with environmental science and transportation disciplines may also occur. Our experienced staff will provide mentoring and coaching to the intern to allow development of civil engineering skills and knowledge. Work responsibilities and activities include:\nHydrologic and hydraulic analyses, calculations, and design\nArcGIS analysis and figure development\nAutoCAD Civil3D drafting and design\nApplication of standard engineering techniques and procedures\nTechnical memo and report development\nFieldwork, as required by current workload\nInvolvement in the summer internship program\nOther duties as needed\n The ideal candidate will have the following:\nPursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering with interest in water resources\nGood working knowledge of the fundamentals of civil engineering concepts\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook)\nSelf-motivated and detail-oriented\nAbility to contribute and work well on a team\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing\nAbility to work safely in both office and field environments\nThe candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be capable of field work\nPreferred:\nKnowledge/experience/coursework related to hyrdrology and hydraulics\nPreference given to local candidates\n Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience, range is $22-$27 DOEQ;
