This is a temporary part-time position. The paid internship program is approximately 12 weeks and runs from May - August 2027.\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience with a growing North American engineering consulting firm. This internship position will work alongside our firm’s full-time employees to learn how professional services are provided to our clients. Our experienced staff will provide mentoring and coaching to our interns to allow development of civil engineering skills and knowledge. Interns will get exposed to our clients, job sites, laboratory, communities, as well as collaborating with our RESPEC multi-discipline teams on public and private sector clients.\nAdditional responsibilities include:\nAssist with design work\nPerform calculations and simulations\nResearch topics as assigned\nAssist with field inspections\nAssist with laboratory testing\n The ideal candidate will have the following:\nPursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution\nMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.\nTeam player who strives to provide quality work\nPreferred qualifications:\nSolid time management skills and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in an efficient manner\nCoursework in steel, wood, concrete, and precast/prestressed concrete design\nGood working knowledge of fundamentals of civil or structural engineering concepts\nSelf-motivated and detail-oriented\nStrong problem-solving and math skills \nStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities\nSome proficiency with Autocad Revit\nWillingness to travel around Southeast Alaska\n Compensation: Hourly wage depends on experience. This is temporary part-time position.
