That’s how we operate every day, guided by our values: Be Daring, Keep It Simple, Take Action and Have Grit.\nJoin us as a Senior Financial Accountant, where you’ll Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to support the financial accounting team deliver the financial reporting obligations for Rest, trustee and investment special purpose vehicles (corporate entities as well as trusts), ensuring best practice financial controls are implemented and are aligned with the Rest strategy, and supporting ongoing financial reporting deliverables to provide accurate, timely and relevant information on financial and governance related matters.. This is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the financial wellbeing of millions of Australians.\nKey Accountabilities/Responsibilities\nContribute to the delivery of financial reporting and tax-related returns for Rest Group entities, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, accounting standards and internal Rest policies, and assisting with other ad hoc or emerging financial reporting tasks as required.\nDevelop and maintain effective relationships with administrators, custodians, auditors and internal stakeholders to support the delivery of financial reporting obligations and strategic initiatives.\nSupport continuous improvement and team capability development by implementing better systems, processes and reporting practices to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls and enhance quality of financial reporting deliverables.\nConduct analysis of accounting and financial matters and preparation of relevant papers to support the basis on which Rest Group entities have prepared financial reporting.\nSupport in managing the year-end timetable across Rest’s group of entities to ensure that all stakeholders (both internal and external) deliver according to agreed timelines.\nBachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce (Accounting major preferred).\nChartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) designation.\nDemonstrated experience in financial services, professional services firm or a superannuation fund.\nRequired experience, understanding or credentials including:\nStrong knowledge and experience in financial and regulatory taxation reporting - experience in financial reporting for a Superannuation fund is desirable but not compulsory.\nAbility to apply accounting standards and financial policies to complex arrangements\nAbility to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external service providers.\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment or independently.\n .What you'll find at Rest\nHybrid working\n5 Rest Days (wellbeing days) each year in addition to annual leave\nEligible employees are entitled to 22 weeks paid parental leave (gender neutral)\nContinued super contributions during parental leave\nLearning and development opportunities, including AI & Data Academy, leadership programs, LinkedIn Learning, study assistance and professional memberships\nIncome Protection Insurance\nOption to purchase additional leave\nRecognition through our Rest Excellence Awards\nIf you share our values and this sounds like the kind of place you’d do your best work, we’d like to hear from you.
