You'll spend your time in architecture discussions, technical evaluations, prototypes, code, and production troubleshooting via white board.\nYou'll help teams:\nEvaluate where durable execution fits into their architecture\n\nDesign production systems with Restate\n\nBuild proof-of-concepts and reference implementations\n\nSolve distributed systems and infrastructure challenges\n\nDeploy and operate Restate in production\n\nYou'll also bring what you learn back to Restate, shaping the product, improving developer experience, and turning recurring customer challenges into reusable tooling and patterns.\nWhat You'll Do\nArchitect & build\nDesign production architectures with engineering teams\n\nHelp solve problems around state, messaging, orchestration, and failure handling\n\nBuild prototypes, integrations, and reference implementations\n\nGuide teams from evaluation through production\n\nTroubleshoot complex distributed systems and infrastructure issues\n\nShape Restate\nBring technical feedback directly to engineering and product\n\nTurn recurring challenges into tooling, documentation, and best practices\n\nContribute to technical demos, talks, and developer content\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're looking for technically strong engineers and architects who enjoy solving complex infrastructure problems alongside other engineers.\nMust Have\nStrong software engineering or solutions architecture background\n\nExperience with distributed, backend, or event-driven systems\n\nStrong understanding of system architecture and reliability\n\nExperience with a backend language such as Go, Java, Python, TypeScript, Rust, or C++\n\nExperience with cloud infrastructure and/or Kubernetes\n\nAbility to dive into code and troubleshoot technical issues\n\nNice to Have\nDistributed databases, messaging systems, workflow engines, or infrastructure software\n\nKubernetes, networking, observability, or cloud architecture\n\nAI infrastructure or production AI applications\n\nRust or other systems programming experience\n\nOpen-source or technical evangelism experience\n\nLocation\nUnited States (San Francisco Bay Area Preferred)\n\nTravel approximately one to two weeks per
