As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll work across our Python services, Snowflake data platform holding decades of hourly market and weather data, our Vue front end, and Ask Discover, our customer-facing AI agent built on AWS. You will work with our team's engineers, researchers, and product managers to characterize revenue, risk, and environmental impact and contribute to renewable energy development worldwide.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild and maintain features across the stack: Python services and APIs, Snowflake data pipelines, and our Vue web platform\nTurn the output of our analytics engine into clear visualizations and workflows that make complex market data simple for customers\nHelp build and improve Ask Discover, our customer-facing AI agent, running on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore\nAssist in support and maintenance of our systems in collaboration with quality and DevOps engineers; may include working on performance and security improvements\nOwn production issues end to end: find the root cause, explain the problem and its impact on customers, estimate the fix, and weigh the options with the team\nUse AI coding tools and agents to move faster, and help the team adopt practices that keep AI-generated code reliable\nBecome familiar with the architectural vision of the product and ensure the associated designs follow that vision\nGive thoughtful code reviews and mentor junior engineers\nOver time, own the design of parts of the system: break down small epics, support releases and deployments, and suggest improvements to our applications and development practices\nRequired Experience & Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related equivalent education\n4+ years building production software, ideally data-intensive web applications\nStrong Python. It’s the language our platform runs on\nComfort moving across the stack: you can work on an API, a data pipeline, or a Vue component in the same week, and you pick up unfamiliar parts of the system quickly\nSolid SQL and experience working with large datasets (batch processing, warehousing, time series)\nExperience with a modern SPA framework (Vue, React, or Angular), REST APIs, and asynchronous data fetching\nExperience deploying and running software on a cloud platform (AWS preferred)\nYou use AI coding tools and agents every day, and you know how to direct them, check their output, and catch what they get wrong\nClear communication, especially when explaining a technical problem, its impact on users, and the trade-offs between fixes\nPreferred Qualifications\nSnowflake, especially performance tuning and modeling large time series data\nBuilding LLM agents or AI features in production; Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is a plus\nVue 3 with Pinia, and data visualization libraries\nDocker and CI/CD, and experience maintaining high-availability production systems\nEnergy, financial, or other quantitative data domains\nCompensation, Benefits and Location\nThe base compensation range for this position is $$135,000 to $160,000.\nActual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
