Role Summary:

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll lead the delivery of civil and land development designs for utility-scale renewable energy projects that support a cleaner, more resilient energy future.

In this role, you'll apply advanced civil engineering judgment, technical leadership, and a collaborative mindset to drive high-quality project execution from early design through final deliverables. You'll own complex scope across projects and portfolios, mentor and develop other engineers, and help shape the standards and processes that define engineering excellence at Revamp - while working with a mission-driven and employee-owned team that values ownership, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and meaningful impact.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Design & Engineering Judgment

  • Create highly complex civil engineering plans, details, calculations, and documentation - including site layouts and designs in AutoCAD/Civil 3D - for utility- and commercial-scale renewable energy and land development projects.
  • Lead site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, access roads, and related civil design scope across multiple projects or an entire portfolio.
  • Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of renewable development design principles, engineering principles, and practices across broad areas of assignment and related fields to develop practical and constructible design solutions.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and adapt engineering procedures and criteria, and develop new techniques or improved processes, materials, or products.
  • Seek guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems and new approaches to assignments with conflicting criteria, with completed work reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

Project & Portfolio Delivery

  • Oversee projects within a portfolio or a suite of projects, and plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of documents and activities for multiple major projects.
  • Review and finalize scopes, budgets, and schedules, and prepare proposals to provide professional services for engineering projects or portfolios.
  • Support project execution in alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Perform essential duties, including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Prepare and review complete project documentation - including drawings, reports, technical studies, specifications, and supporting calculations - for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, jurisdictional, and client-specific standards, practices, and codes.
  • Review site constraints, permitting requirements, jurisdictional standards, and project-specific criteria.
  • Identify design issues, project risks, and opportunities to improve quality, constructability, or efficiency.

Collaboration & Client Communication

  • Coordinate design work and cross-functionality across internal project teams, including civil, structural, electrical, project management, and other disciplines.
  • Participate in and lead project meetings, communicating engineering work clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the main point of contact for their discipline or project team, and coordinate with clients, project managers, permitting authorities, and external partners.
  • Support client interaction across multiple projects and portfolios.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technical staff to deliver accurate and complete project work.

Leadership, Mentorship & Technical Advisory

  • Supervise, train, and mentor assigned staff engineers, and lead all staff necessary to complete assignments.
  • Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
  • Serve as a technical specialist or advisor to upper-level management and staff, and may act as a supervisor.
  • Contribute to a team culture rooted in accountability, curiosity, quality, and shared commitment to Revamp's clean energy mission.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline, or similar applicable work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in civil engineering design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in the creation of civil land development sheet sets, including grading, site drainage, and access road design.
  • Advanced working knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, codes, and design practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be both creative and analytical.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach to project delivery and cross-functional coordination.

Preferred

  • Professional Civil Engineering (PE) licensure is strongly preferred; multi-state licensure is desirable.
  • Prior renewable energy, utility-scale solar, BESS, infrastructure, or land development experience; experience with utility or commercial solar PV systems or energy storage system design is strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Experience with civil design software and tools relevant to site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, and permitting.
  • Experience coordinating with clients, permitting authorities, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
