The CAD salary range for this role is approximately C$154,000 - C$192,000.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nProject Delivery & Execution\nDevelop physical substation design packages for renewable energy substations and/or utility interconnections, including general arrangement drawings, plan/section/elevation views, equipment layouts, bus arrangements, and preliminary steel and foundation quantities.\nThe role may support the development of substation structural steel and foundation drawings in alignment with the project structural engineers to maximize efficient design practices.\nDevelop grounding, lightning protection, and conduit/raceway layouts as required.\nTranslate utility interconnection requirements and client documentation into clear, actionable preliminary physical deliverables.\nAdapt designs in fast-paced development environments with limited or evolving information.\nProduce high-quality AutoCAD drawings and 3D substation models consistent with Revamp standards.\nCoordinate with protection & control, civil, structural, and power systems teams to deliver integrated design packages.\nReview subconsultant deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, and schedule alignment.\nAs needed, contribute to detailed, full-design physical tasks for other substation projects within the team.\nClient & Stakeholder Coordination\nSupport client interaction for multiple projects within a portfolio.\nPresent design assumptions and respond to technical feedback.\nServe as a technical point of contact for early-stage physical scope.\nCoordinate with project managers to align client deliverables.\nEnsure documentation aligns with utility interconnection requirements and client expectations.\nQuality & Compliance\nApply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria independently.\nLeverage experienced staff for clear design direction as needed.\nFormulate and solve complex substation physical design problems.\nEnsure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.\nIdentify opportunities to improve templates, workflows, and design efficiency.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nDevelop work plans for assigned tasks.\nProvide mentorship to less experienced staff as appropriate.\nPerform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.\nPerform additional related tasks as assigned.\nExperience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:\nRequired\nAssociate’s degree or greater in a related engineering discipline, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
