Civil design sets a project’s footprint on the land and shapes how it is permitted, priced, and constructed. You will turn survey, geotechnical, and site constraint data into civil land development sheet sets in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, working with structural, electrical, environmental, and project management colleagues to deliver projects that bring more renewable generation onto the grid.\nAs an employee-owner, you will share in the results of the work and help build a team where careful, well-documented engineering earns the trust of clients and colleagues. Candidates may be considered at either the Engineer II or Engineer III level depending on experience, technical depth, independence, and demonstrated ability to lead scope.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nAcross both levels, this role may include:\nCore Technical & Functional Responsibilities\nCreate site layouts and civil land development sheet sets in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for utility-scale and commercial solar PV and battery energy storage projects. \nDesign site grading, earthwork, and surface drainage that balance constructability, cost, and site performance. \nLay out access roads, internal roads, and laydown areas that meet project and jurisdictional requirements. \nPrepare stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans with supporting calculations. \nEvaluate site constraints such as topography, setbacks, wetlands, and floodplains, and develop layouts that respond to them. \nPrepare drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for development, permitting, and issued-for-construction packages. \nEvaluate, select, and apply standard civil design methods, adapt them for nonroutine site conditions, and bring unconventional problems to senior engineers for review. \nProject & Portfolio Execution\nLead small civil projects, or defined portions of larger ones, from kickoff through issued-for-construction. \nHelp determine schedule and budget requirements for assigned civil scope, and report progress and risks to the project lead. \nAssign tasks to and coordinate work with designers and discipline team members to complete assignments. \nTrack design changes and update deliverables when project inputs change. \nQuality, Standards & Compliance\nEnsure designs comply with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional standards, practices, and codes. \nFollow Revamp QA/QC procedures, self-check drawings and calculations, and resolve review comments before issue. \nDocument design criteria and assumptions so reviewers and clients can verify the basis of design. \nCollaboration & Communication\nCoordinate with structural, electrical, environmental, and project management staff on site layouts, equipment pads, and access. \nCoordinate with clients, project managers, and subcontractors on project expectations and design inputs. \nAttend project meetings and present specific aspects of civil design assignments. \nAdditional Expectations at the Engineer III Level\nLead multiple civil projects at once, preparing and owning scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work. \nIndependently formulate and solve complex grading, drainage, and site design problems, seeking guidance only on unconventional conditions. \nSupport client interaction for multiple projects in a portfolio, including design reviews and technical clarifications. \nDevelop work plans for project tasks, and assign and direct the work of discipline team members. \nMentor Engineer I and II staff and review their drawings and calculations. \nAssist with proposals for professional engineering services. \nAct as Engineer of Record on civil design packages when licensed and assigned. \nAdditional Responsibilities\nPerform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines. \nPerform additional related duties as assigned or directed. \nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or similar applicable work experience. \nCivil engineering design and drafting experience: typically 2+ years for Engineer II and 5+ years for Engineer III. \nWorking proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. \nExperience preparing civil land development sheet sets, including grading, site drainage, and access road design. \nWorking knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, and codes for site development. \nAbility to identify and solve complex design problems and document the engineering judgment behind them. \nEffective written and verbal communication skills. \nAbility to manage multiple projects at once, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. \nPreferred Qualifications\nEngineer in Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license. \nExperience with utility-scale solar PV or battery energy storage projects. \nAdvanced grading design experience on large, complex sites. \nExperience with stormwater management or erosion and sediment control design. \nWorking knowledge of GIS software. \nBenefits for Full-Time Positions\nParticipation in Revamp’s Employee Ownership ESOP program. \nCompetitive compensation with bonus. \nFull benefits package offerings including 99% employer-paid health, vision, life, and dental insurance. \nMedical, dependent care, and commuter FSA. \nMonthly health and wellness stipend. \nAttractive vacation, sick, and holiday pay. \nPaid parental leave. \n401(k) savings plan with 100% match up to 6%, vested immediately. \nPaid volunteer time off and charitable donation matching. \nAbout Revamp\nFounded in 2016, Revamp is the premier employee-owned engineering design firm dedicated to advancing large-scale renewable energy projects.
